Well, I have been having a b***h of a time with a particular eBay seller. I want to copy some of these (short) emails on here, in order. Tell me what you think and if I am out of line or what.

My first message to seller:

Quote:
I paid for this item on about the 8th of June and it is now the 19th. And seeing that you're located within the United States I am rather wondering where this item is since I have yet to receive it through the mail and it usually doesn't take THAT long for a piece of mail to reach its destination. Please contact me SOON and let me know when you sent it off so I can know when to be expecting it. Seeing as how no insurance was offered on this item and if it has been lost in the mail, I assume you either offer a replacement of the product or my money back. Thank you.

His 1st response:
Quote:
Lengthy emails are NOT proper- #1 we do NOT ever replace or issue a
refund- #2 you do NOT have to worry about it being lost because it
didn't even ship yet- It will on monday- We ship once or twice every
two weeks Never promised a shipping date and it free-
Later!

My response to 1st response:
Quote:
1. This last message was NOT a lengthy email and was sent through eBay.
2. It is stated NOWHERE on the item description in regards to your company only shipping items every two weeks. I have always received my charms by now from other sellers unless they have been shipped outside the US, so without that knowdledge of your shipping schedule what was I to think?
3. I DO NOT APPRECIATE BEING SNAPPED AT. You did not provide the information. I had NO IDEA where my item was. A simple informative email or even including such information on the item description as to when it would have been shipped would have been WONDERFUL so as to keep me from wondering whether or not it had been lost in the mail.
4. I do not care if the shipping is free. THAT WAS YOUR DECISION.
5. I suggest we simply leave each other positive feedback, I'll be happy with my charm, and we'll just go on with our happy little lives.

His response:
Quote:
Another lengthy email- I don't have time to argue- Feel free to contact
Jesus christ, the pope and whom ever else my help you-

Cheers!! !

His additional response because he clearly didn't say everything he had wanted to:
Quote:
Ps if you don't get your point across with 10 seconds ITS A LENGTHY
EMAIL!! !
Repost THIS to ebay also

My email to eBay:
Quote:
I had bid on this item, won, and paid for it on the 7th of June. I have
yet to receive this item and was getting worried it had perhaps gotten lost in the mail. I contacted the seller through the item listing on eBay (I can provide this message if necessary) and he/she replied with a very rude response. To which I replied. And then received two incredibly inappropriate responses. I have these emails if it is necessary to provide them. Nor does this individual have any sort of notice on his/her item listing telling the buyer that his/her company only ships every two weeks. For a buyer shipping within the United States, it has NEVER taken this long to receive an item of mine. I only wrote him/her today because I wanted to make sure everything was going okay and that the item hadn't perhaps gotten lost in the mail. And the reply was a rude one, basically to the point of DO NOT BOTHER ME.

The reasons I write are 1. to complain about the inappropriate conduct of this individual as a seller, and 2. to avert any problems there might be with the feedback ratings. I have been a good customer and paid VERY PROMPTLY with PayPal and have been kept in the dark essentially as to the arrival time. And once I sought out clarification, I was basically told to mind my own business and I had NO RIGHT to inquire about MY PURCHASED ITEM (i.e., MY PROPERTY).

I do not wish to receive a negative rating from this individual because of my reply to his utter rudeness and want to know what I can do if he/she does indeed give me a negative rating, because I paid very promptly and have been more than patient in waiting for this item. Please tell me what I can do if this does indeed occur.

Now, I know I got snappy in some points. But is this guy WAY outta line or am I delusional??? :?:

I do not think you are being irrational.

His attitude sucks. But stay proffessional and try to keep further emotions from entering communication with e-bay from now on. This guy/girl will stand out for the fool that it is.

Good luck Sophist

Yes, I did not write the seller back after his last two messages and instead immediately wrote eBay. :)

(I hope he doesn't send me a crappy charm now because he's pissed off at me...)

It sounds like you're overreacting just a bit, not that there's anything wrong with that. You've made excellent points. I wouldn't bother e-mailing the seller again, you don't want to piss'em off if the package hasn't been sent yet. :D

.....I wonder what the ebay returns policy would be if it was faulty or leaky..... and what you'd have to do to prove it..... It'd be better than having to take it back to the shop I suppose..... Especially if the receipt got.... misplaced....

The guy can go f**k himself. Selling s**t to other people is a PEOPLE business and when you're doing it you need to be prepared to deal with people no matter how obnoxious they are or how much they offend you. He has no right to be pissed over an email requesting information REGARDLESS of the length or even the content. If sophist was a total b***h and made an email of 4 pages in length then i think that would warrent a small comment from the seller that he is trying the best he can, he is sorry, and he would prefer not to hear 4 pages of bitching when one page will do. The seller can go f**k himself.

(i'm not suggesting that sophist was obnoxious or offensive, but it seems like a good rule of thumb for sales.)

Well, I received my charm finally and also the reply from eBay which was a fat load of help other than letting me know they are investigating this seller.

I have gone and looked at his individual feedback. Apparently he receives similar negative feedback on a regular basis, four this month so far. And they all say things like: RUDE, LONG DELIVERY TIME, or even NEVER RECEIVED ITEM. It seems he has been investigated on several occasions.

I think I was more pissed off not about his rudeness but in essentially telling me it isn't okay to enquire about my item. That was what really got me.

So, I just left my negative feedback for him: RUDE seller. RUDE emails due to enquiry about item shipment. Have notified eBay. And I expect to get my retaliatory negative feedback anytime soon, since I looked at the feedback he has left for every negative to him and it has all been negative in return. I do appreciate that eBay will post my feedback below his on my feedback page, so people can get a better idea of who was the a**hole.

Well, well, well. I have since received my negative feedback from him and also a lovely little message in my email which he sent through eBay.

The negative feedback I left for him:

Quote:
RUDE seller. RUDE emails due to enquiry of item shipment. Have notified eBay.

His email message read:
Quote:
WOW!! ! Now, your feedback score is 96.8 %
Very sad........ VERY VERY SAD Wonder how long you'll be 'round lil newbie!!

And his negative feedback to me wrote:
Quote:
I was rude because u emailed me 2 DAYS after u Paid!! Stating NON receipt! IDIOT

Does this a**hole even know who I am??? I paid for my item on the 7th of June and emailed him about it on the 19th and I have copies of the email and receipt to prove it! Now maybe my definition of a "day" is a bit off but...

Here is my additional complaint to eBay:
Quote:
I have contacted eBay already about the above item in regards to inappropriate conduct of this seller. I have since left negative feedback for this individual as it is an honest assessment of my experiences with him. And due to his manner, he has made communication to resolve this matter in an adult fashion, without resorting to negative feedback, impossible. I understand this particular matter is now being investigated to the best of eBay’s capabilities.

He has now also left negative feedback for me. But this being no surprise to me after having looked over his other negative ratings and those which he in turn gave to his buyers in apparent retaliation. However, this is not the reason I write. This gentleman has persisted in contacting me after I requested no further contact unless absolutely necessary. Yet this has not happened and he has chosen to be vindictive instead and has contacted me AGAIN. This last message through the eBay system read:

“WOW!! ! Now, your feedback score is 96.8 %
Very sad........ VERY VERY SAD Wonder how long you'll be 'round lil newbie!!”

Might I add, his negative feedback to me is inaccurate:

“I was rude because u emailed me 2 DAYS after u Paid!! Stating NON receipt! IDIOT”

Now, I have kept both my receipt of payment AND my first email to him. The receipt being on June 7th and my email occurring June 19th. This is hardly two days. Negative feedback is one thing; lying is another.

I am very, VERY tired of this particular seller and have been harassed enough when originally I was only enquiring about my purchased item and its shipping date and promptly told to go mind my own business. Please let me know what can be done since I REALLY don’t want to hear from this seller again (nor would I suspect any other buyers who would actually like to have a pleasant buying experience). Thank you.

And yet eBay's lovely little email is DOWN. So I have to wait awhile before I send this. Tic toc tic toc...
