I've been hearing quite a bit of "geeks" -- and thus, "geekdom" -- becoming a trend recently. Being a Internet/Star Trek-obsessed homebody is now in the realm of what's hip these days, what with the price of gas these days, for one reason.

So, are we part of a trend and at the same time the center of attention, or are we on the periphery of events here?

'Geek syndrome' is a misnomer then.

I must be pretty unusual here then. I'm not a geek, a goth or a hippy. I am just a bloke.

What is Aspie-comorbid? I know what co-morbid conditions are and have my own share of them, but does this mean AS being co-morbid with something else? I have never heard of that.

I'm neither a nerd, goth or bloke, I'm just an English gentlemen, eh wot.

But yeah, I'm fed up with the stereotype that all autistics (especially those with Asperger's) are computer nerds and are into Star Trek and such when it's clearly obvious that there are those who think that sci-fi is a load of shite.

We are individuals, after all. Who'da think it? :o

I am good with computers, but I can't say I get off to code. I don't like science fiction at all, though. You're right: The geek stereotype is limited and nothing but annoying.

I say you and me should go out and hunt down those lazy-minded fools who create such pointless autistic stereotypes. How 'bout it, ol' autistic chap?

Don't ask: I've always been a loon. :P
