I would feel odd speaking to a stranger. And I have this narcisstic viewpoint that I know more than he/she does about how I think. And, I like this narcissism in me and don't care to change it even if someone finds it unheatlhy or neurotic or pathological.
Think about it. Do you think therapists go to see therapists? I bet they don't. When you know too much, you know too much. What could someone else tell your overanalytical mind? How to use your emotional toolbox? Sure.
It's quite humorous. Whenever I've sat across from a psych. I get the giggles and want to laugh or ridicule them somehow--not sure why. It's rude, really.
I guess I haven't had good experiences with therapists/psychologists/psychiatrists. I'm skeptical.
Mainly, I don't like someone taking notes when I speak! This irks me to no end.
Even at a PPT, I hate that note taking business--it's so dehumanizing. It feels strange when everyone starts writing after I speak. I want to say, put the GD pen/pencils down. I feel invaded. I feel, if something is important enough, you'll remember it. If not, then it shouldn't be recalled. Notes are for college lecture halls. I remember what's important. Others can do it to if they really wanted to, if they had a vested interest in the child/patient. No, he/she is simply another dysfunctional that needs sorting out and we better cover our you know whats.

(I hope I did the quote thingy right) Oh my god that's how I FEEL! I pick my nose and OH MY GOD YOU JUST WROTE 100 WORDS WHY!! !! !! !! !! I feel a therapist didn't give me good advice she said I should go to a gym and socialize and just get over my issues. I tried this by getting a job and my behavior upset a coworker. I now beleive after much research and stuff that while not officially diagnosed that I have Asperger's. My overall opinion is my behavior has upset FAMILY,FRIENDS,STUDENTS,TEACHERS,COWORKERS,AND BOSSES SO DO NOT TELL ME TO JUST GO ON AND PUT THE PAST IN THE PAST BECAUSE I'LL JUST DO THAT AND THEN UPSET PEOPLE AGAIN AND IT'LL BE AN ENDLESS CYCLE!! ! IT'S ABOUT GETTING HELP TO CHANGE MY BEHAVIOR NOT SHOVING IT ASIDE AS IF IT'S NOTHING!! ! So for me I've tryed ON MY OWN to understand my behavior better and I hope my school/job experiences have taught me enough for the future.
I feel if you are good in the field of Psychology in the aspect of helping people (Psychiatrist,Pscyhologist,Therapist etc.) UNDERSTAND THE Emotional Math problem. X (Listen to my problem)+Y(Process my problem)=Z (try to repair my problem) I say repair because psychology isn't a quick fix and they are a "repair" man of sorts and not a miracle worker so your t.v. might not be fixed such as your emotional issue might not be fixed. Also have MORE THAN ONE IDEA! I was given advice from my Therapist which I hated so I didn't use it her response "How am I going to help you if you don't take the advice?" My Psychology teacher understads the X+Y=Z issue and I would overhear her saying which she has also said to me "Let me know if that works." SO SHE CARES ABOUT YOUR EMOTIONAL STATE AND WANTS TO HELP YOU AND BY THOSE WORDS YOU KNOW YOU CAN GO TO HER AND SAY HEY THAT ADVICE DIDN'T WORK AND SHE'D GIVE YOU DIFFERENT ADVICE!! !! !
WHY COULDN'T THE PSYCHIATRIST AND THERAPIST I DEALT WITH COULDN'T BE MORE LIKE MY OLD PSYCHOLOGY TEACHER SHE WAS SO NICE AND AWESOME!! !! !! !!
