Despite my age, I LOVE swing sets. I still spend hours a day swinging. Or when things get overwhelming, the first place I go is to my swing set.

I heard swing sets are an aspie thing-- not me just being weird, does anyone else really like swing sets?

I love swing sets! I don't have one at home, but there are three within walking distance from my house. I just tour around the neighbourhood visiting them.

I probably get a few strange looks - I'm 21, so traditionally considered too old for swings. But I don't really notice people much, especially when I'm on the swings. I can swing for ages, just thinking and being lulled by the rocking sensation.

Well I was still swinging on them at age 17:

I haven't even seen one around here though...

I think the rocking motion could be comforting to us, although I don't remember swinging any more than anyone else.

And cool pic, Kirska. It's too cold where I live to swing in December. :?

Oh I'm sure. My parents live in Michigan as well. WAY too cold for me up there. I went to a beach on Lake Michigan in August and couldn't believe the people swimming in that frigid water...

I've lived in this state almost a decade and I still haven't adapted to it. The lakes here suck- the ocean is so much better. I'd love to move back to one of the states I used to live in, but all my family (and most of my friends) are here. I love to wear short-sleeve T-shirts, but you can only do it comfortably for about 4 months out of the year. From October to April, I only go outside to get from place to place.

Sorry to rant, but I'm tired of being stuck inside and scrapping my windshield every time I go out to my car.

I love swinging, basically grew up in the playground. Had to stop going cause i was getting too old, doesn't look good being a 23 year old in the playground full of children, but there was a few times i ventured back there at night when my family would piss me off, i should buy me an indoor hammock and use that as a swing :P

I love swings. I look like a 12 year old so me hanging around in a playground doesn't look suss.

I am 34 and I still love swings. Thank goodness I look much younger, or else I would get some really weird looks from people when I am swinging on the playground. There should be a law where it would be required that every establishment should have a swing available to the public. :D When I used to take my son to his appts. with his thearpist, I went out on the playground, or in their inside playground and swang for the whole two hours. Soooooo refreshing. I have a patio swing that I set up in my basement during the winter months. In the summer, it is on my patio. I want one of those sling swings. I could mount it from the support beams in my basement. I also have two kids, so I can get away with it. :D

It is my dream for there to be an adventure playground made for teens and adults, with swings and spinning things and things to climb on and crawl under and giant ball pits and those foam 'clothes press' reels to squeeze through...

My mom says as a baby the only way she could get me to stop crying was to put me in my wind-up swing. Even to this day I need that constant motion. I need to swing, be in a rocking chair, or rock back and forth.

I still find it relaxing to swing. I live right next to a playground, it's directly to the right of my house, a lot of times at night when I need to clear my head I go on the swing at the playground. No one else is there at night, so I don't get any strange looks.

I used to love them and would spend so much time on them getting lost in thought. Now, I cannot handle the motion.

I like up-and-down motion a lot more. Trampolines... lovely!
