Beautiful aspies

Nice considering I headbutted a moving car the night before. Ended up with a pretty cool scar though.
Oh my goodness, that looks so painful. I hope it's not permiment and I hope it healed up quickly.

Wasn't painful at all funnily enough. The only thing I remember before the accident was downing triple shots of vodka though that may have had something to do with it. I think its fairly permanent haha. Its just a harry potter looking whitish pink scar now though. I should have put my nose back in place though because its still wonky haha.
Are you sure you don't need to fix it?
Are you sure you don't need to fix it?
I don't think so. I can still breath through it. The nose doesn't move so I don't think it matters if its out of place.
Sorry to go off topic Yupa, but with those intentions you may as well go to Love and Dating and reignite the Most Attractive Woman thread. I wouldn't advise that though, it died for a reason.
The problem is that by complimenting any particular people who posted, rather than complimenting all, you are effectively rejecting all the other people who posted who you didn't mention, and implying they are ugly.
Not a smart move.
I would seriously recommend refraining from turning this thread into a beauty contest, it will only gain you dislike from members on the site and hurt peoples feelings. Please, take it from someone who's seen it all before, and even participated before (I posted pictures of myself up in the Most Attractive Woman thread, and was probably one of the last people to give up on it - because I liked the concept and the idea of it giving people a boost to their self esteem). It will not end well.

Surely, the incredible beauty, coupled with the "invisible disability of AS" could actually lead to a whole host of other problems, particularly for young women. There could be issues of being targeted and manipulated sexually and/or on dates etc., sexual assault, date rape. Of course there may also be heightened expectations regarding "appropriate behaviour" from others, which may create added pressure to try to fit in and adhere to the group.
We need to be careful about assumptions regarding how it is for others on the spectrum......
Yes, being at least a relatively pretty/attractive woman with AS can cause a whole host of other "invisible problems" (alongside the usual ones you hear people talk about on WP). It certainly doesn't make dating any easier; the social complexities involved in the right ways to react when being hit on/having someone you just consider a friend try to take the friendship further/trying to deal with attention from more than one person at a time/and then ESPECIALLY with trying to deal with the things millie makes reference to, such as sexual manipulation, are beyond comprehension.
It's a whole new ball game, and it certainly doesn't someone make it any "easier" to find a relationship. Just because someone makes an advance towards you, doesn't mean your feelings are reciprocated. And vice versa. It isn't that easy.
And you don't even need "incredible beauty" to be in this situation. The combination of being pretty/relatively attractive and socially naive/socially blind is enough. I couldn't imagine the sort of difficulties and dangers someone like Heather Kuzmich would face on a daily basis.
I agree with all of this. I'm going to try to resist the temptation to make this another one of my 20-paragraphs of anecdotes posts, which I know I'm prone to do. But, even though I sometimes have my doubts and insecurities about whether or not I'm actually on the autistic spectrum, this is one topic that I know all too well. When it comes to being socially clueless, this was the area where I excelled.
I've never considered myself attractive, but when I was in my teens and early 20's, I was reasonably fit and good-looking, although not in a model kind of way. I was also unbelievably naive and gullible, and had no clue what appropriate or inappropriate behavior was when it came to how I was treated by men or how I conducted myself. I knew some basic stuff, so I thought I was wise. But I managed to fall prey to all kinds of sexual manipulation and abuse, as well as probably hurting some other people myself, without even realizing it until years later, because of a total lack of understanding about how the social-sexual-dating world works.
As far as the rest of the thread goes, I don't know. It's nice to see people's pictures if they want to share. There are a number of people on WP who I might put in the "beautiful" category, if I was inclined to categorize people like that, but it wouldn't have anything to do with their physical features, or whether or not they are capable of taking a picture of themselves without holding the camera two inches away from their chin. It would have to do with the way they present themselves in their posts. Some of them are people who are sure no one else likes them, and some are people who seem confident with who they are. Some seem to be obviously autistic and some not so much. Some are very young and some are older than me. Some are fat, and some are skinny. Anyway, that's all I'm saying about that. WP isn't a beauty contest.
I think this topic is often overlooked and needs some serious discussion. Maybe we should consider making it a thread in Love and Dating/Womens Forum? Any volunteers?
I currently find myself in this sort of position and I think that I do get sexually manipulated at times. One friend I hooked up with asked me why I reciprocated, and I said because I felt I could trust him, and he said I shouldn't.
I agree with what's been said so much and totally think it ought to be made into a thread. I think the Womens forum might be the best place if we want to avoid guys (especially younger guys) getting snarky. I'm only saying that because I made a comment in the Adult forum and some young guy told me (in a nice way) that it probably wasn't a topic for girls and that there's no such thing as nice girls.
By the way, hi girls, my name is Kelly and I live in Australia (NSW north coast). Might think about posting the topic.

This really shows how subjective such a topic is. They would not have been my picks, though I do not find them unattractive at all.
Yupa, did you share a picture? I'm curious.

Let's throw in my lot. I'm not exactly gorgeous, but I've come to accept how I look. That's already a big advance, for me at least.

Nice to meet you Kelly! Thanks for the offer, that would be great. I'm from Australia, QLD - I live between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

Ha, I'd wish! He's the famous composer Johann Sebestian Bach (1685 - 1750). (If you look very carefully, you might just see that he's holding a piece of music paper in his hands.) I'm a big fan of his. As for myself, musically I'm stranded somewhere between the utterly talentless and the mediocre.
