I personally do not think we should be allowed to create offspring.. the amount of suffering I have endured is simply immense and my life is quite awful because of being autistic.
I know that autism has its perks, but those aren't as relevant in todays world.. we have given the world great inventions and theories etc., but I think it's time to leave.
I didn't used to think like this but now that I am 20 I realize how crippling this condition really is when you're not just a kid.
The way I see it is is immoral to bring someone into the world who will likely only suffer and be bullied and live a lonely life of introspection and rejection.
I wish I was never born.

I think autistic people should now mate more than ever. The more of us there are, the higher the chances that society will finally see our strengths as strengths and make best use of us in society, instead of trying to convince us to start being people that we are not. Imagine a world where more and more politicians, government leaders etc are Aspergers, that base decisions based on knowledge and hard facts, and not because of money, greed, envy, etc... to stop mating now would be the worst thing, the time needs to come where people that are not weak with emotions, finally take some leadership roles and make some last effort changes to rescue this corrupted and greedy world.

I think it is for the individual to decide. To forbid people on the autism spectrum to made would be plain wrong (to forbid that kind of reminds me of what hitler did).
I think it is good the way things are now, no one is forcing anyone to have kids, or forcing them not to.

Funny, this has never happened to me. What an interesting world-view you have.

Which is worse in your opinion: being a NT without mental disorders, but with cancer or being an Aspie without physical health problems?

The former. I wouldn't accept a cure for my ASD that gave me cancer, that's for sure.

Dad had strong Aspie traits, so do I, and I created a son. Neither I not my dad had any idea we were autistic at the time, but if I'd known, I wouldn't have avoided becoming a father, and I'm pretty sure Dad wouldn't have either. And I don't believe any of that has anything to do with sinful behaviour. I don't wish I'd never been born, and neither does my son.

Agreed--and with the same multi-generational story.

It is exactly what hitler promoted. And God forbid this ever happen in our country. What a horrible thing for government to decide!

I think people are forgetting the atrocities of the past.

"...the concept of a white, blond-haired, blue-eyed master Nordic race didn't originate with Hitler. The idea was created in the United States, and cultivated in California, decades before Hitler came to power. California eugenicists played an important, although little known, role in the American eugenics movement's campaign for ethnic cleansing." - See more at: http://historynewsnetwork.org/article/1 ... " Elements of the philosophy were enshrined as national policy by forced sterilization and segregation laws, as well as marriage restrictions, enacted in twenty-seven states. In 1909, California became the third state to adopt such laws. Ultimately, eugenics practitioners coercively sterilized some 60,000 Americans, barred the marriage of thousands, forcibly segregated thousands in "colonies," and persecuted untold numbers in ways we are just learning. Before World War II, nearly half of coercive sterilizations were done in California, and even after the war, the state accounted for a third of all such surgeries." - See more at: http://historynewsnetwork.org/article/1 ... War Against the Weak...

http://www.waragainsttheweak.com/index.php?page=50143

"Investigative journalist Edwin Black compellingly argues that the ethnic-cleansing movement that culminated in Nazi Germany's death camps during World War II was the realization of a particularly ugly American dream. Black, whose mother lived under Nazi rule in Poland, writes here with the zeal of an avenger, "

" Edwin Black is a dangerous man. He tells us things we don’t want to hear. His groundbreaking new book, War Against the Weak...is a scary and necessary book. "

"In this bombshell of investigative journalism, author Edwin Black reveals that eugenics was extensive, systematic, well-funded, and supported by major political and intellectual leaders. "

People who are autistic but still want kids should have as much right to as anyone else. That's how I see it.
I am on the spectrum, myself, but want kids even though I am a middle- aged man! :)
