Where can I ask questions about autism
I see I got hijacked by Liam again hmm. My autism does not effect me as much that way. But I know my teachers get trained on how to talk to us to try avoiding those kind of misunderstandings. I have however been told on my gaming forum that my thinking is too black and white.
Went by johnatains this morning he controls that house he lives with his grandparents they are in there 80,s if i acted like he was my mom would kill me i guess my question is that Normal to act that way in his safe environment or did i see the real johnatain or maybe a bad bad day or was that a spoiled brat i seen or the austim at its worset. I"m going to talk to him if its anything but the autism

For some autists, it is difficult to mask for too long (I can do it myself for about two hours). With each autist, they can mask some, but not all, of their characteristics which, in some, might be extreme in its severity. Family members learn quickly what the limitations of their son, daughter or sibling are. I suspect that they realize that they can only expect so much from their autist and, if pushed too far, a stressful situation can be even more stressful. Now, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (where the autist understands and wants to learn about using adaptation skills) can be beneficial. But for some, it only aggravates them and their already difficult behaviors, sometimes. Asking Jonathan if he would like you to remind him if and when he gets too extreme might actually help a lot.

Or when you say "it's raining cats, and dogs!" and they run to the window expecting to see live German Shephards, and tabbies, falling from the sky.

I would expect a young child to think that but I would expect an older autistic child to think you're just joking because that isn't possible. After all they say we're logical so it's not logical for that to happen unless there is a tornado. Then it would be logical to think that if you said that during the disaster.

Can someone explain the noise thing I read about. Johnatain covers his ears sometimes like its loud but when he is on a tractor with me he does not says any thing about the noise, we are in a cab but the noises is constant he never covers his ears he even helped me mow the yard and he used the zero turn not a sign of it bothing him.
But in class he covers his ears and says it is to loud and sometimes in the lunch room so i guess I'm asking why just the class room alot the lunch room some but never on the ranch on the equipment and its loud.

Just guessing: in a school cafeteria there is sound coming unpredictably from every direction, and maybe it combines with visuals of other kids, and bright lights, so it is really over all "sensory overload" that bothers him.
On the ranch one engine droning loudly is just one noise droning from one predictable source so he can mentally block it out (or maybe he even likes the sound). In fact it might even act as "white noise" that drowns other stuff out. Though I dont know why a school classroom would be overwhelming for him.

That is called sensory sensitivity. It can involve all five senses. For me, I get angry and walk away quickly (to prevent me from putting a fist through a wall) from any sound that is cacophonous (jumbled and combined) regardless of its volume. Even whispers, when combined by several people, seem to be screeching in my ears. So, the trigger is very different for each autist, but the experience is often the same. I guess another way of describing it is: I love horizontal music like toccatas (one lone note at a time), but I think fugues (maybe eight or more notes at the same time) are ugly and insulting. Some researchers believe that this is because autists have twice the number of neurons in our brains; so, we experience a bigger dose of the effects of our senses.

It seemed likes to the teacher it is a excues to get out of class because she seen him coming though town with me on a tractor and she said that tractor is louder than my class room and you didn't have a problem with that you was having a good time
I explained to her what i read and i would ask about it.
she did apolize to Johnatain.

A steady loud sound like a tractor is not a problem for me. I sleep with white noise playing, which is basically a loud roaring sound like the Niagra waterfalls. It's just one pure loud sound, not a whole bunch of different sounds all crammed together. He might even find the tractor sound comforting, like i do with white noise.
Its like a new world to learn. when i think i got it half fiqured out its something new.sometimes its like walking on egg shells and trying not to break them. He's been so short fussed the last few days if I say its green he says its blue everthing is a control issue.I ask him why he is being a butt to everyone he just looks at me.I have a jr.high school rodeo Friday night thru Sunday night He ask to go but I'm worried about use all staying in the horse trailer that long it sleeps four but not much room.and very chaotic
Any suggestion I'm worried this could make or break the friendship

Hm. Do you have access to the horse trailer before the trip? Showing Jonathan around the trailer and pointing out how crowded and loud it could get might convince him to decline going with you, or go, but know the conditions. Mention that you would like him to go with you, but you undertsand if he might not like the sensory problems, might help him make a better decision. Tell him you are just looking out for his feelings.
