I don't know if this is propioception, but I do lose all sense of my body-self when I'm on the computer, especially if it's something I'm engrossed in like typing this response or watching videos, or playing video games. It's kind of a problem because I know now that it's the opposite direction you need to go to remaining spiritual and grounded in yourself, your body, or the feeling of you.

I find that I get more agitated the longer I "lose myself" into a computer or generally, on the web.

I know that feeling. Worked for 20 odd years on a computer, forgetting the body. Nearly wasted me away and I didn't even notice. Sitting is highly dangerous to your health and your body knows it, that's why you get agitated. There are alternatives! You can use a standing desk or if you don't want to go that far, I use a stool made from a car suspension coil. That way my body uses muscles to maintain posture, and it allows me to incorporate some enjoyable movement. Wobble chairs are sold commercially, not sure how good they are or just the old medicine ball.
However I minimise sitting now and stand on one leg to improve strength and balance. Your body is the most magnificent bio machine in existence. The more you use it the more it grows, but don't use it and it will deteriorate rather too quickly.

Ya, I feel terrible sometimes when I think about how much time I spend sitting or laying down.
I have low-energy, kidney problems I don't have the money to diagnose, constant severe allergies, and constant major depression that hits me often, especially when NTs mind-f**k me, which is like daily sometimes. Notice that you're guilty of "something" when you're around NTs ? I think that's how they control you. It's a system of control.
Perhaps for other NTs too. You're guilty until proven innocent, but in the meantime, you're guilty of "something", they just haven't figured out what you're guilty of yet, so they keep watching you, snooping in on you, asking you questions (that seem like innocent and happy questions ... ya right) , until they get something that will stick to you.

Which is why I avoid people at all costs, if I can.
Being around NTs and their constant psychopathic behavior simply wears my nerves thin.
That's how they get to you, and "beat you", .... by attrition.

That's right, being a desk potato is very bad for the health. If I live that way for a few days, it's all I can do to walk to the shop and back. So I try never to let a day go by without at least taking a reasonable-sized walk. Trouble is, it's so nice to just loaf about.

To me, what you describe seems to be a deficit in unconscious proprioception.. I need to keep track of my legs and arms while i'm writing this, for example, because my attention is on the writing, and i lose track of my body. So i have my legs crossed tightly, and move them constantly.. And i rub my fingers against my palms because, i think, i 'm trying to feel them using tact.
But the conscious proprioception, i suppose is ok, cause i can move where i want to. I'm only clumsy when i have to be attending to something else, so i need that 'automatic function' (unconscious prorpioception) that i don't really have..
That makes sense, right?

I have told my therapists in the past that I felt like a passenger in my own body. I was diagnosed with something else though. That was a while back. I wonder if I should bring his up since it hasn't dissipated at any time in my life.

I am often bumping into things. I have no sense of balance and have to touch things when going up and down stairs. Combine that with visual strangeness such as bad depth perception, I am a walking disaster. I have fallen down stairs several times. Certain patterns mess with my eyes a lot and make me lose my personal orientation and spatial awareness even more.

That´s typical in AS according to what I´ve learned till now.
Bumping into things because of poor vision-body coordination and bad depth perception. Poor balance and having to touch things when going up and down stairs.
Those are all listed as typical.

I don't have to touch things when on stairs, but I do feel like I'm going to trip if I don't look at my feet when I'm going down.

I absolutely do, and it's annoying as hell.

Have you tried getting confused by what you see, then? :D

So that's why I need to look at my feet when I'm going up and down stairs, why I tend to bump into things, and why I sometimes "loose a leg" in bed. Good to know.

I sometimes bump into things, and I often go down stairs one at a time instead of one-two-one-two.

I have some. I have been told that proprioceptive issues are part of Autism. And that would make sense since proprioceptive issues are part of what the cerebellum deals with and they have found that Autistic brains have entire cell populations missing from the cerebellar circuit.

Poor proprioception causes stimming as a way to get input and body awareness.

Someone mentioned somewhere that they often folded their arms. I used to do this all the time. Yet due to past jobs I was always taught not to so I had to stop doing it.
Is interesting what you said about stimming... How it is used to relate to your body etc.
Someone mentioned that their balance is effected... Now I get that before I go down stairs. I have to really hold on tight at the top, but once I start to go down I am ok. It is judgement of trying to get the height differences right? No idea.
Anyone relate to this? Sometimes get it doing other things... Balance issues... Is it connected to the above heading? Or is it unrelated?

I have a tendency to walk into trees and things. It gets old in a hurry.

I bump into walls and often have difficulty rounding corners in a corridor. On occasion I lift my arms at my sides, like a child playing "airplane", to keep balance. It's subtle enough that I don't think people notice I'm ready for take-off. I also get my handbag, pockets, clothes etc. caught on doorknobs or handles. Yesterday I ripped my pyjama shorts when they caught the knob on my dresser.
