I feel like that sometimes, but I am still proud to be an Aspie.

Just think of all the famous, amazing and rich people who are Aspies!

Bill Gates, Steve Wozniak (few people know him, he started Apple and invented the personal computer) Steve Jobs (runs Apple today, invented the iPod... Thats just very very very few, do some research, there are so many successful Aspies.

And saying having a high IQ wont help you in life is ridiculous!

Also, with the interest and knowledge can come skill, coz if you enthusiastic about something you can learn how to master it, for example, I am very good at computers, coz thats my interest.
Like I said earlier, if your interests skills can tie in with a good career, you'll probably be pretty happy. However, when your interests/skills are not conducive to any kind of career (at least any you or others can see), then your life will probably be more miserable.

Why is it when people talk about Aspies they talk about the ones who are famous for their computing?

I just used that example coz I am one of those Aspies who is good at computing :D

Bill Gates, Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs are aspies? News to me.

Richard Borcherds, Peter Howson, Heather Kuzmich, Craig Nicholls, Dawn Prince-Hughes, Vernon L. Smith, Satoshi Tajiri and Peter Tork are some notably successful people with AS.

Computing? That's what all aspies are good at. According to my research.

hi Chimchar- i agree.
aspergers is different for everyone- see my thread below about accasional inability to speak.
i have no job (because i hate being around other people), i hate going out- noise, light, people, find relationships hard, touch horrible.
for all this i am very lonely, and cant see any point to living.

i hate the comments when other people say 'boo hoo' etc- i feel as though im locked up in my head- i live on benifits, which is humilitating, i live in sub standard accomodation, and have no freinds any more because im so ashamed (went to top university- friends mostly in the top tax band now).
i hate my life- this condition has imprisioned me and makes my life a daily misery.
someone touches me and it revulses me. i dont go out. ill never marry. this is the rest of my life?????? seriously??? its - no life. im in my mid thrities. i want to marry adn have childre, but doubt i culd ever share a house with anyone. i am desperatly lonely- i hate it so much.

i just hate it.
im not tecchie though- im artistic- i cant even be a normal aspie!
