sartresue, I've been thinking about this too. I don't like the idea of being part of a 'clique.' :?
However, I am thinking that we are not excluding anyone! We're trying to have a bit of fun and take some time to appreciate the members. I am not the best person at noticing others or remembering their names so I must apologize to everyone who I haven't mentioned. I put in a nomination whenever I think of/remember someone.

My advice to anyone who thinks this thread is only for a certain 'popular' group - post your own nominations for the 'un-cliquey' people and change it! :D I certainly would welcome more diversity and I wish I could think of more things to compliment people on :?

on the subject of a "clique>"

i got so excited by this thread as i do often by funny little things -- i really get SO SO SO excited like a little kid and i post and post and post at times on WP because i have problems regulating my feelings. i do not know when to stop things (like talking and posting at times.)

i find it quite hurtful that people think the thread is cliquey..

It was an honest attempt by GReentea to celebrate people and the connections we develop here on WP.

six months ago i was in a terrible state. WP people saved my ass without even knowing they were. i am very grteful that i did not suicide.
i do not feel like that now. i feel like i have some connection with a few people here who understand how things are for me. I am glad to celebrate that and i would encorage EVERYONE to nominate people and join in.

Goodness. I do not ever want to exclude people like that. we have all had enough of that in our lives, haven't we?

THis THREAD is for everyone.

please join in and nominate people who have truly lifted your spirits in some way and who have been important to you on WP. they may not even know they have done so.

:) :) :) :) :)

I don't even know who "the popular people" are here on WP.

I'll also nominate popularity, for similar reasons, but more for "being liked" for reasons XYZ. XYZ can be replaced with gender, good looks, personality, and sheep level (high level = more points). You may use as many of the replacements as you desire.

You forgot to nominate obliviousness, for lacking awareness, even though the signs are hard to miss.

You also forgot to nominate thoughtlessness for amazingly clever disguise and extraordinary leadership in shepherding sheep over the proverbial cliff..

seems a shame that nice things get misread.

some of us are naive enough to believe in simple celebration.

if you are imbued wiht such delightful sophisitcations, as the post above may indicate, you may indeed be better positioned out in the real world with a nice martini, a bunch of friends, cooldom and the sassiness of club life after dusk. You could alway have a fantastically rowdy discussion about how ASPIE you are------- daaaaahling ---- with drinks clinking and with the loud music booming.
Could be a real SOCIAL occasion for you.

for those of us who cannot contend with that -- well, we tend to sit around and try to make a bit of happiness in life by getting involved in virtual awards nights for the socially crippled.

frig off if you want to criticise. life is too short and i have had my share.

I'm very disappointed that such a positive idea could be seen in such a negative light.
I think I'll just take my leave of this thread now since it seems to be quite offensive to others.

Sorry if I had any part in offending anyone

I hate these sorts of things. I don't think I've ever been nominated once for anything!
