perhaps you can get in touch with a fellow wp member from la who would let you stay with them untill you can apply for section 8.
By the way section 8 is free housing for people in need.
I'll pray for your life to get better.
Section 8 is NOT free!! !! !! The only free housing is:
1. CHARITY(RARE and usually conditional)
2. TEMPORARY(usually under special conditions)
3. MISSION(Often limited to a certain population and to get you back on your feet)
4. HUD(USUALLY in BAD areas and requires that you care for the property)
Section 8 is subsidized low rent housing and pays 80% of the cost. And I am SHOCKED how hard THAT can be to get into. BTW Some Section 8 programs are, ironically, offered through HUD property. They get a reduced rate, improve, cleanup, and maintain the property, and rent out apartments around the market rate, so section 8 people pay about 20% of the going rate.
BTW If you have no feeling in the feet, you better WATCH IT!! !! ! Lack of care of such injuries can cause a total loss of the legs, or even a painful DEATH! MOST people are FORCED to take such care because they will be in severe pain LONG before it gets that bad. People with diabetes mellitus generally have their feet checked to prevent this, and it is apparently a COMMON problem.
