Maybe I got diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome in childhood (unlike other Aspies my age) because I lived in the country and schools were a bit smaller and might have had better funding for disabilities? Had I grown up in the city or somewhere with bigger schools my AS might have gone unnoticed and I'd probably have just been the quiet kid at the back of the classroom my whole school life rather than brought to the spotlight and having to endure all these assessments and being labelled and singled out.
