the way of antisocial amuuurica but not the whole world. there are other nations far more civilized than we are. one is to our north, presently being besieged by amuuurican-fascist-supported mobs in Ottawa.

He has always claimed Affirmative Action has hindered him, when applying for work, some firms would not accept him and the interviewer openly questioned his grades even though he graduated from Yale and was middle of the class. This was in '74 and I believe him.

I am not sure many high profile successful autistic people have ever "given back" to the autistic community. If anything they would avoid the label altogether. I mentioned an Australian classical pianist David Helfgott a few times who is clearly low functioning autistic but his wife gets angry at journalists and openly disputes his autism instead he has schizoaffective disorder. For some reason she is stigmatised by the label of autism?

but CT should not be a hypocrite about it. he should mind his own business and let other POC take advantage of such programs.

Okay then much agreed on Clarance Thomas and did very much enjoy the original series in its time and even somewhat today . But did become a Star Trek Voyager fan , and 7 of nines logic way of looking at things , pretty much reflected my own thoughts . Possibly even alittle Aspie like.
Thank you for the clarifications :flower:

TBH i have not watched either of them. for many years i left home @ 6AM and came home @ 8+PM. damned long hours at the uncivil service, so when those programs were on i was away in work hell. ;) but you are prolly way smarter than i am so i defer to your opinion of the voyager 7 of 9 even though i don't know what 7 of 9 is. :wtg:

7 of 9. Was a character in the Star Trek Voyager series. A human captured in her youth and fitted with borg implants
Later became part of the voyager crew. :)

ok, here is a stoopid question, what is the etymology of the name "7 of 9"? if she was 7, are the other two borg implants?

Never watched the show. Not hard to see why she was cast though..

I can think of two reasons....
Image

Not into Gene Roddenberrys world of science fantasy , I know things about it superficially. I've seen a few episodes of TOS, as a kid. I like TOS , on a aesthetic level, I think Spock Kirk and them are okay...It was mildly interesting, as a weird campy 60's show...everything that followed ...MEH.

It was her designated number in a group of nine other Borg type individuals . And all of those were part of a larger collective of the Borg grouping.

She was the seventh...in a production line of nine examples of the model?
