I nominate spudnik for his sense of humour. There are times he's really made my day.

I'd like to nominate anbuend for a lifetime achievement award. I know she's not active right now, but she's been in the trenches for a long time, and I'm impressed. Her blog has so much stuff on it. You can read for days, and still learn something.

And I'd like to nominate HarryWilliams for his blog, and his activism. Rabblerousers can be fun.

Overall this time of thread makes people feel terrible if they're left out, especially on a site where people get left out anyway and in real life.

I have been guilty of making such threads, and I've noticed several cliques over the years, but never been part of one, a lone soldier.

I'm not saying I don't like the thread, I'm just looking at it from a realistic point of view. I've never been one of the popular kids, online or off. I guess threads like this just make people feel like they're back at school again.

sartresue, I've been thinking about this too. I don't like the idea of being part of a 'clique.' :?
However, I am thinking that we are not excluding anyone! We're trying to have a bit of fun and take some time to appreciate the members. I am not the best person at noticing others or remembering their names so I must apologize to everyone who I haven't mentioned. I put in a nomination whenever I think of/remember someone.

My advice to anyone who thinks this thread is only for a certain 'popular' group - post your own nominations for the 'un-cliquey' people and change it! :D I certainly would welcome more diversity and I wish I could think of more things to compliment people on :?

on the subject of a "clique>"

i got so excited by this thread as i do often by funny little things -- i really get SO SO SO excited like a little kid and i post and post and post at times on WP because i have problems regulating my feelings. i do not know when to stop things (like talking and posting at times.)

i find it quite hurtful that people think the thread is cliquey..

It was an honest attempt by GReentea to celebrate people and the connections we develop here on WP.

six months ago i was in a terrible state. WP people saved my ass without even knowing they were. i am very grteful that i did not suicide.
i do not feel like that now. i feel like i have some connection with a few people here who understand how things are for me. I am glad to celebrate that and i would encorage EVERYONE to nominate people and join in.

Goodness. I do not ever want to exclude people like that. we have all had enough of that in our lives, haven't we?

THis THREAD is for everyone.

please join in and nominate people who have truly lifted your spirits in some way and who have been important to you on WP. they may not even know they have done so.

:) :) :) :) :)

Perfect award!! !

I really don't nominate, but sometimes I remember Starbuline and her strength. And I remember crying (a lot) when she died.
I'll always vote for spudnik though - don't feel sad spudnik.

To those who feel left out here's a little
story that might make you feel better.A group of children were having a school play, but there were only a limited number of parts available.
One little girl was asked by her parents if
she'd been given a part ."Yes" she said with
excitement "I've been chosen to be a part
of the audience" :)

Oh well,it made me feel better.

Will you be my friend and we can form a clique that is anti-clique just for the sake of irony?

(Off topic) hale_bopp, not trying to criticize your choice of avatar or anything, but Majora's Mask scares the sh*t out of me, just FYI.

I have never been popular either... I know what you mean. I hope noone feels left out. I nominated who I did because they helped me so much, I think I would have been in a terrible state last year if it wasnt for my nominees.
