I have stretch marks on my back as well, they formed when I was around 13, I experienced a growth spurt at the time (adding about four inches to my height) which likely caused them.

Stretch marks do not necessarily denote obesity. When one grows unusually rapidly, sometimes the skin doesn't grow at a pace sufficient to accomodate the bones and tears under the stress. These tears in the dermis lead to scarring, which is difficult to treat effectively. I have a few on the left leg, which grew 3 inches longer than the right leg within a matter of weeks when I was about 11.
