I was just thinking the same thing. My sister follows the norm, so, therefor we dont get along (She feels I try to wreck the family and get attention for myself.) Also everything I do is for attention to all NTs not just because I find it fun. PEOPLE SUCK

I am what they call "the odd ball" the rest of the family just puts up with me. Although I have a grandfather (which I look like) who shares similar AS traits.

My younger sister follows the norm, relentlessley. She has to have the latest Form-Fitting clothes from the finest store that she can buy them from. She's 28 and she still listens to a local station that plays the latest pop songs. I don't know if she really likes that music, or if it's second nature to her, because she's been listening to Top 40, since High School. She's had a couple of British Days at the Daycare that she used to work at. I've offered for her to take my Union Flag Pillbox Cap to the event, the second time that she's hosted the event, and she said, "No thankyou! I want to be a Canadian!" I was hearing that sentence in my head, for the rest of that week. That only made me all the more proud of my London-laced Quirks.

My little sisters are both like that. The older one always acts like the eldest, and treats me like the youngest. The younger one bullies me, and again belittles me. They both get at me for not being "social enough" (the younger one is always telling me that my friends will hate me if I don't phone them), and they criticize my taste in music and films, often calling it all rubbish while they listen to the stuff their friends are all listening to. (They deny that whenever I mention it and say they're acting individual, but for my middle sister to love a band until her mates say they hate that band proves my theory, I think). The most annoying thing is that they both act like they understand AS, when they don't. I've got them to read "The Curious Incident" and Luke Jackson's book over and over, but they never seem to get it...

My brother is very... unusual.

He is very different from anyone else I've seen, highly intellectual (though thoroughly non-academic), a creator of trends rather than a follower, and very highly social (to the point of gaining a huge following in high school).

I think he might have mild AS (very limited and intense interests, overly formal speech (he has talked about how he needs to make a conscious effort to "dumb everything down" when talking to anyone but me), OCD) While I haven't talked to him very much about it, he seems to have developed a tremendous understanding of social interaction on a cognitive level, and a deep enough understanding to interact with people much better than most NTs.

We would sometimes joke about how I was given all the academic drive, and he was given all the social skills.

My mom's brother is most definitely an aspie (though my mom is very NT), my dad shows a lot of AS traits as well, as does my sister. I'm the only one who it seems to have been strongly negatively affected by AS.
