I don't really mind them to be honest, I don't get anxious or anything.

But it gets annoying when I'm always told to move out of the way.

Crowds are unnerving and chaotic to me.

Just yesterday, my son and his mother and I went to Disney World. I didn't actually go in, I just dropped them off, and they met up with some other friends who were there. There was no way in hell that I was going in there, amongst the throngs of people and noise. Later, when I picked them up, I was waiting by the gate, watching hundreds and hundreds of people pour out in a big, sweaty, clamoring mass. I would have really gone into sensory-overload at that point, but I was wise enough to have my mp3 player with me. I just turned up the music really loud, and pretended that the stuff going on in front of me was some kind of movie.

Too many people. Too many interactions. Too many variables. Too many interpretations. Too much noise. Too much movement. One or two people at a time is really about all I can handle.

Too close to the maddening crowd topic

When it gets too crowded here, I put myself in time out.

Too much yap is the worst. It sounds chaotic and can be worse than visual overload.

I seem to have a sort of sonar I give off that keeps people away.

Oh I agree with too much yap. Normal crowds I can handle but if I am waiting for something and am surrounded by yappers who are all talking at ten times the volume of others and laughing like hyenas at excrutiatingly loud decibels at jokes that aren't that witty. It's too much for my ears and brain to handle. The jokes are not very clever and funny only to them, it seems. I get so stressed out I start to complain to whomever I am with about the noise and how I wish they would hurry and call my name just to escape the exaggerated laughter at lame jokes.
I used to go to lots of concerts and disliked them for the same reason but always went anyway because I didn't want to miss out. I always noticed how lousy and fuzzy the PA systems were and how hard it was to understand what the lead singer was saying when talking to the audience because of the mic and how no one seemed to understand how to set up the equipment right so it sounded good although someone always seemed to understand how to operate the stage lights without any problem.

I like crowds, they're interesting.

I just don't like a lot of people doing things at the same time.

I rather they just lounge about, are a bit silly, talkative but I get overloaded when they all start to work on something and tell me to do this, to do that... because I can't!

I always think that I do not want anybody to talk to me because I do not function at all when being told an order.

I need to sort things out my way, not the normal way.

But crowds themselves - lots of people in one place - do not bother me at all. Actually I find them rather exciting!

Generally crowds do scare me and I try to aviod them. I can tolerate crowds at concerts, football matches and events similar to these but otherwise no crowds overwhelm me. Hostile environments are one of my worst nightmares.

They're not easy to handle. Today for example I was in London (although I live over 100 miles away from London) and it was very crowded, luckily I remained calm but it was hard to handle. But I guess I'm used to it.

I hate crowds. I have to shut down around them. They're awful on four levels: one, there's too much going on visually; two, I don't like the feeling of being surrounded by people; three, they're chaotic; and four (the main reason), they're loud.

I HATE crowds, trying to maneuver around gob-loads of people can drive me to melt-down.

Crowds are okay. I tolerate them if it's a formal event i have to go to (funerals, weddings, marriages, babyshowers, etc) but more than i few hours or too much noise from the crowd and i want to scream or something. I remember going to a birthday party as a young kid, and burying myself in the ball pit hoping to dear god the kids everywhere (there was at least thirty) would shutup and never find me in that pit.

I hate crowds, if it's people I don't know. If I'm with someone I know (one of my parents, brothers or one of my close friends), then I can handle it, no problem.

I'm fine going through a crowd. I don't think I'd like it too much if I had to stand in a crowd or if the crowd was interested in me for whatever reason. I don't have anything to do with these people. Now if it was a crowd of people I know I might have to get out of there.

I'm glad I'm not the only one.
