I'd say "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie", since that's a part of my obsession.

"The Simpsons Movie" is also good though.

I spent a good amount of time trying to track down some of the songs from this movie, only to find that a soundtrack was never released and some of the songs don't exist outside of the movie itself. Damn.

Also, I've read that a bunch of the original film was destroyed in a fire long before the advent of DVD, so even the "remastered" DVD has some tape hiss, as that was all they had to work with. I'd be curious to hear the sound quality of the original LaserDisc release, but I doubt I'll ever come across a copy. It's quite rare.

There are several movies I am really interested in, but there is one that really is a special interest for me. That movie is the Stephen Spielberg classic from the early 1970's---Duel with Dennis Weaver.

Special Movies topic

I thought a thread like this was supposed to be in another forum, but because it is a special interest thingy, here goes:

I have always been obsessed with prison themed movies/television shows, or any shows that feature being wrongly imprisoned, since I was about 10 years of age. there was not a whole lot of choice back then, so when the movies/shows came on TV, I watched them, as reruns, over and over, memorizing them.

Overcoming adversity is great. :D

Haven't seen it in years, but it truly shows the ability of a young Spielberg to make a gripping film.

Woooooooooo people the same as me! I have obsessions with movies, but it changes. Often follows Pixar movies, and at the moment I seem to refer almost anything back to Ghostbusters and am annoying everyone, I tend to talk non stop about my favourites and know practically EVERYTHING about them. Obsessions come and go for me and just becuase I appear to have got over a film doesn't mean my passion won't resurface!
My firsts were probably Toy Story and Mulan in the late 90s when I was between 4 and 7, and the first major one where I HAD to have EVERYTHING was probably Harry Potter 2 in 2002. After that film obsessions became far more powerful than when I was little.
I wrote about Mamma Mia! for a piece of coursework recently, spent all day researching it - most enjoyable piece of work I have ever done. Trivia, box office total, DVD sales, I LOVED it. And went about 2500 words over the limit due to waffle :P

Mostly I have been obsessed with Tim Burton's films. I really love his visual style and he has a method of storytelling that really resonates to the autistic perspective, even though 2 or 3 of his films were terrible and in other films he has some plot inconsistencies or weaknesses. I don't idolize him, but I do love him in a sort of "hey, you're someone like me" way.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is my favorite Tim-involved movie. I also love Coraline, which he wasn't involved with but it was also directed by Henry Selick, who directed Nightmare. Stop-motion animation is incredibly beautiful to me.

I was so excited for Sweeney Todd. I didn't know anything about the musical, but I heard Tim was adapting it into a movie, and so I went and got the original soundtrack for it and memorized it.

I also love Harry Potter and fortunately so do a lot of my friends, so it was really fun going to the Half-Blood Prince midnight showing seeing all the people dressed as HP characters and being unashamedly nerdy.

Me too. Those are my two obsessions movie-wise. Nightmare before christmas/ Corpse Bride and Harry Potter.! =>

oh wow cool thread....It never ever crossed my mind that OTHERS could be obsessed with a specific movie in an aspie way...

Well in 1996 I went totally obsessed with the movie "MoneyTrain" with Snipes, Harrelson and J. Lo
I just HAD to see it again but I brought a diffrent company, then I had to see it again and again and I went running now and then to the cinema to just watch it and so did regularly 8O
That resulted in me beeing recognised at the cinema at the end
That resulted in me getting some materials about this film and I got massive big posters of this film that I put on the walls
That resulted in me beeing interested in the cinema business and that resulted in me keep visiting the cinema not only for this movie but also to see how the staff worked
That resulted in me learning how to show a film on cinema

Before the end of the year I ended up working at the cinemas myself......

Cat People (1982)
Honky Tonk Freeway
Frances
The In Crowd

..and a few others to a lesser extent.

Oh, yeah! A Beautiful Mind all the way! :D I joined this site when I was at the height of my ABM obsession, so that is why I first created my user name on here. I have since refined said user name to "OddDuckNash4348," to further incorporate the "odd duck" quote into the name. (When I made the "99," I hadn't yet thought to put the "4348," and I just picked "99," since I like the number 9.) My user name (and avatar) comes from this scene, my favorite scene of the movie:

Alicia: (looks up at the stars) I once tried to count them all. I actually made it to 4,348...
Nash: You are exceptionally odd.
Alicia: I'll bet you're very popular with the girls.
Nash: A pair of odd ducks, then...
