sometimes,I am really afraid to start topics over here knowing that there is a possibility that no one would reply on it..

Me too.
Also, it may be the fact that I don't like uncertainty and unpredictability that makes me anxious for responses. If I have been corresponding with someone, say, through e-mail, and after a long period of time I don't get a response, I begin to torture myself over whether I have done something wrong.

It's easier to talk to people in real life when it comes to this aspect because then it is more apparent whether they are ignoring you on purpose or whether they are just too busy to talk to you at that moment.

I try to not express my feelings as much on forums or when talking to strangers by e-mail because I don't know whether it will elicit a positive or negative image of me in their mind. Since I don't know the vast majority of people I talk to on the Internet, it is difficult for me to understand what they like/dislike in people. That's why I seek to meet people I meet online in real life - seeing them in real life alleviates the barriers created by online methods of communication.

Yea. It bugs me when not enough people respond to me. I sometimes respond to my own threads just to keep them on the first page.
