Sounds like some people who need to get a life.

Or at least a hobby.

These people truly make me sick. I mean, when I was married, any ring was good enough. It's the symbol of love that matters, not the cost. I am 40 and live in a studio apartment. Do NT's really judge and compare that against their nice houses when considering whether to befriend me? No wonder I worry sick with insecurity when trying to make friends with NT's!

Sadly, for some that does count as "a life". I think it is because of a basic lack of curiosity and imagination. There are so much more interesting things to think about. These types of people creep me out but ultimately I pity them. Their lives will always be small.

Wow, the phenomenon described in the article is just dumb.

If there was a person who annoyed me, always tried to undermine my efforts, and/or seduced my boyfriends, s/he was not my friend, even if I had known him/her for 10 years, or s/he had cancer, or whatever!

Friends are friends. Enemies are enemies. They should not be combined.

And I don't believe that "being nice" to an enemy is being his/her friend. I believe that "being nice" is maintaining your dignity and composure. By "being nice", I'm not dropping down to their level.

(I define "being nice" as NOT insulting, calling names, undermining his/her efforts, or destoying his/her property. It doesn't mean that I will gush with compliments and gifts for him/her.
I may not look at them or talk to him/her if s/he happen to pass by, but I won't go out of my way to be mean. "Being nice" is, basically, showing at least a basic level of respect for another human.)

What are 'Frenemies'? My computer won't let me follow the link, so I can't read the article...

Are they some kind of Friend who is also an enemy? But then they aren't your friend, so that doesn't make sense.

I hate generalizations between us and none aspies. It's really stupid because aspies can be just as bad as anyone else. We aren't angels.

Does frenemies refer to love-hate relationships?

No, it's more like two people, usually of the same sex ,who are in competition with each other and will use dirty tricks to gain an advantage, all the while pretending to be great friends.

It sounds like typical "fakeness". I have seen plenty of that. Friends are supposed to be supportive of you and put in a good word for you whenever they get the chance. If they can't or won't do that they aren't really "friends" no matter how sweet they are to your face or how nice.

There were a few in high school who "pretended " to be my friends, then after a while, after learning some things about me, theyd twist the story and spread the nastiest rumors about me.I befriended em at the time, unaware of their intentions.

I had "friends" who told the whole town that I had episodes where I would flip out and try and blind people with my fingernails, and that I had attacked a girl and wrenched her neck and nearly killed her.

I have NO idea where this came from, I do have an aggressive demeanour, but that's always verbal, not physical. I argue a point, not attack someone. The one time I did have a physical fight was when another girl attacked me.

What is the point? Confused Confused Rolling Eyes

I'm not getting what the sarcasm is about-I had someone on another thread completely misunderstand me and give me the rolly eye thing-must be time to log off-not a good night for me.
