The World Must Change
Then, of course, there is the idea of group selection... the idea that certain traits that benefit the group over the individual (as per a broadly Hobbesian/Pessimist interpretation of 'individual benefit') are also selected for. The existence of group selection is generally accepted in biology. However, the extent to which it actually impacts evolution is poorly understood.
Of course, arguments based on group selection open their own 'can of worms.'

Change!! ! No way! The world changes too much as it is. The weather never stays the way I like it. You have the plate techtonic thing, I can't even spell it. Then there's the seasons and El Ninos. After last year's election, I need a break from change.

Perhaps find a single mother and offer to baby sit her kids for a few hours per week so she can go shopping or have a night on her own without the children.
Get a job and give a portion of what you make to a reputable charity.
Perhaps just take the time to talk with somebody and give them some encouragement and advice. That's what I do over on the parent's forum, and it seems to help make the world a better place.
If your really want to change things, start with actually making the change yourself and finding ways to help others.
I agree with this. Being The Change in a personal, everyday way, which creates a positive ripple effect. If every person who wants a better world would themselves be the good they want and send out that kindness and help to others, even in something as seemingly trivial as a message board (words have such effect!) I believe the world does evolve for the better.
Personally, I don't believe in generalizations about NTs and Aspies. But IMO people on the autistic spectrum are among the most sensitive and logically/critically-thinking people on the planet and are therefore, it seems to me, precisely the kind of people who tend to find peaceful solutions to problems, and avoid violence.
When the first Gulf War started in the early 90's I remember seeing a big peace rally in downtown Los Angeles (where I lived) on the TV news & I remarked to one of my friends, "Those kids are so naive." My friend said, "Yes they are. Isn't it beautiful?"
Here's to all of the dreamers and optimists in the world. We may see you as unrealistic or naive (and you probably are) but the world would be a poorer place without you. Cheers.

I think it's a great thing to want to cahnge the world. This is the dreamers that had made some change making the world if not better a least a little less cruel. If there would be not of people fighting to make a better world, it will be far worst.
Maybe you should post it in adolescent forum where you can found(maybe) more young idealists. There is also gifted haven, a forum for smart teens. I'm too old for this forum but I grew quite fond of it and it could be a good place for sharing your ideas about changing the world. (You're gonna continue to go on wrong planet of course.
)
My name is Sam Ackary. And I realised that Capitalism must be controlled if humanity is to flourish. Now before anyone says this is not related to autism, it most certainly is. Autism needs less degradation and less treatment as though we are animals. So does the rest of humanity. I've set up a group on facebook - http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group ... 4564682215.
Its called The World Must Change. It is based on the principle that humanity must alter its moral perceptions, it must re-write its own moral code. It must see the world as all Homo Sapiens, no longer treating races differently or religions intolerantly. I am an Atheist, but I see no reason why I and any other religious individual could not co-exist. If you believe that humanity should attempt to abolish war and violence. Destroy poverty and ignorance, then join this group. Take a side while the world lies in its ruined state. Fight for a revolution. Change the World.
My dear Mr. Sam, the world has been this way since the dawn of time, and that will never change. I stop even worrying about it, and just go about my merry life.
"Controlling" capitalism and the greatness it brings will in no way make this world a better place, because that's what everyone already tries to do.
Yeah, Autism could use those things..so could every single minority that's ever been attacked; again, that's human nature. Look, I have no desire for a "cure" for my Autism...but I also have no desire to "cure" what makes NTs what they are either.
As I've mentioned here in the past, I've come to realize that Magneto from X-men was right when he said that humans are always going to go after the members of society that are different, scapegoat them and all that.
However, I disagree with him regarding his position to be judge, jury, and executioner. I believe it is up for humanity to decide its own path, whether it be to prosperity or consequence; either way, I will "cover my own @$$", to make sure I live a great life regardless.
Should humanity choose death and destruction in the long run however, I will not be there to bail them out upon screwing up.
To quote Batman "I'm not going to kill you...but I don't have to save you"
Or to quote Rorschach from Watchmen( I love this line) "and the world will look up and shout 'save us!', and I will whisper 'no'"
That said, I remember when I was your age; very angry back then in my youth; you may come around in a few years.
It doesn't work. People get in the way.
In fact, the fact that humans are so hopelessly corrupt and corrupting is probably one of the main reasons I became a Christian. That's right, the doctrine of original sin is the only thing that makes sense of the world. After a couple of decades of naively hoping we could save the world, I realised that no, we can't save the world. In fact, if left to us, the world is utterly doomed.
The only way the world is going to be saved is if God saves it. Seriously, it's that bad... we're that bad.
You don't have to agree with me, of course ... but as you can see, it's quite a turn around for this ex politico to have made. If I'm wrong, and there is no God, then we're all going to die in a man made disaster anyway. But there's no way that we're going to save the world. Sorry. I mean... have you seen what we're like?
To right!
I think it be nice if things in the world be changed. People stopped being so ignorant and people stop taking things out of context and getting bent out of shape, people starting to take things word for word, people getting rational and logical, if everyone just accepted each other and if everyone stopped bullying ,and if everyone started following the rules, there be a lot less crime and car accidents. Yeah I wish lot of things would change but it's not going to happen. My first ex wanted to wait till the world got better before having kids but I knew that meant we would never have kids together because the world will never change. I don't know if he was implying he never wants any or if he was really that naive to think the world will get better soon.
All I can do is accept that there are lot of dumb people out there and violence and victims will always be seen as the bad guys because there will always be people who will believe the bad guy. People will always believe whatever they want to believe.
Oh doh this is an old thread I just realized.

I do think that will happen however....but not for a very long time. As I've stated before, I think in the next stage of evolution for what are now humans all this will happen. Be glad that we're most likely that "prototype"!
