My best friend (who I actually haven't seen in a long time.. long, complicated story.. fairly long, anyways, and definitely complicated... and we're both terrible on the phone..) is best described to somebody who has seen her around but dosn't know her by name as "that weird girl who stares a lot and is obsessed with cats." I'm actually surer that she's on the autism spectrum than that I am.
We go through long periods of not talking, but she's Alicia, and I love her dearly no matter what.
We did not, however, work well as roommates! We have so many of the same deficits and she just can't put day-to-day things together, AT ALL. (yes, Alicia, when the air conditioning is on, you have to close the WINDOWS as well as the doors..) I guess I can't really get a lot of stuff without some guidance, but she's even worse.. I was like ready to strangle her.

I have not met another Aspie with Dx late as me in my region. I would like to. For the same reason as others here have said: seeing another like person; like so-far journeys, etc.

Ah, I get it now; although I really liked the original and still want to use it for something.

I have no idea what this topic means but that is probably the greatest subject title I've seen in a long time!! "Have you NOT meat another Aspie?" It is a great, ambiguous line! I want to use this line for something.

I don't think I have in person or if I'd want too. (sorry.) :-( While I'm not sure if he was an Aspie I remember a friend (who seemed looking back to have a special intererst) he just talked about one game franchise over and over which was ANNOYING AS HELL!! !! !! ! I hated it! I stoped talking to him when he IM me WTF (sorry for swearing) I then stopped being friends with him. and it's sad I say this since it means I wouldn't be friends with myself which IMO I don't think I would. :-( What are your thoughts on IF you meat another Aspiee

Ha ha ha ha. :-) (there fixed the title LOL!)

I've never knowingly met another aspie in real life.

Although, my best friend back in highschool was diagnosed a sociopath...

I've considered on numerous occasions to go find some, there is like a local group of aspies who meet monthly. I just keep chickening out.

If I did, I wasn't aware of it. Certainly nobody I went to school with fit the profile/spectrum.

Well now that you mention it, I knew of three other aspies when I went to the university. And there were a few people that I suspected might be but plucked up the nerve to ask them.

Apparently one of the kids I grew up with was an Aspie, but he also had a lot of anger issues that made it hard to be friends with him.

not in many years, and not anyone similar to me in age.

my cousin has asperger's and i have not seen him since i was in high school and he was only about 3 or 4 at the time. :-\

edit: i remember getting along with him pretty well, and i usually don't get along with kids at all. once they get above a certain age though its all gravy.

nope, never met any other Aspies.

to be fair I don't even know if I'd pick up on it if I were in the presence of one....I don't really pay much attention to most things going around me anymore, other than what I'm focused on doing.

Pretty sure my eldest son is an Aspie. Other than him, no.
