Your profile seems very similar to mine, probably I'm a bit more creative and by the time of 23 I had already understand enough how to work out people.
I always done sport (actually I became pretty nervous without 3-4 hours a day of activity) and expecially in "alone" sport like swimming / body building etc. I've also reached good result (by the way I was unable to change my shirt alone at the age of 10, and my wife still check me before I go to office).
I did very well at school, but school for me was only something were I should go to take a degree. I always thinked for imagine, I like to read and never listened to teachers. I was unable to study uninteresting subjects.

By the way, I've done Aspie test (around 150 Aspie, 60 NT): http://www.rdos.net/eng/Aspie-quiz.php

(this is my graph: http://www.rdos.net/eng/poly12c.php?p1= ... =72&p12=31 )
and AQ Test totalizing 34 points: http://www.piepalace.ca/blog/asperger-test-aq-test

People rarely see "strange things about me" expecially now that I was adult. When I was young they usually say: "It's because his parent divorcied", "It's only too much intelligent for his age", "Intelligent people are usually a bit weird". No one thinked that I "HAVE something".

By the way, I come to this forum because I thinked that my child have some autistic behavior and fixed an appointment with a specialist a week from now. But I think I'll talk with her before my child
