Do you talk fast?

I can talk really fast and clear.
I prefer to do so when I can.
but I often talk slowly with more tone.. which I do for people who I know are slow minded or anyone new I meet.

Apart from pauses (forgetting words, forgetting how to construct sentences, forgetting how to talk...) which slow my speech down, my speech is quite normally paced. As far as I can tell, anyway.

Ik talk very fast. I've slowed down my speech by speech and singing lessons, but my speech rate is still abnormally high. Too bad really because my slower voice is nice and low, a lot better that my hyper-speech-squeek. Ahh well.. at least I get tons of information in a short time frame
I have some fast talking adhd friends, when I'm with them I totally let it all go, people stare at us a lot (we're also very loud).

I normal interaction I don't think I talk particularly fast. However in presentations I was ALWAYS told that I talk much too fast. I think part of it is nerves because I just always want to get things like that over with and the other part is probably wanting to fit all of the information into a certain amount of time but not having a good concept of how long X amount of time is. Like when I've been told to make a presentation that lasts say 15 minutes I would always think that 15 minutes is such a long amount of time so I would end up coming up with with far too much information for that amount of time since it always went by much faster that I had realized. I guess some of it could have also been excitement as well because I do excited when telling others about things I know about that I find interesting and when creating presentations I would always get carried away with researching and details. After years I still never really got a firm grasp on how much or how little I could fit into a certain amount of minutes (or if others find me boring or genuinely interesting heh).

Yes I do, to a point...usually I talk fast when I really "start going".

It's not exactly something I can "turn off and on" like John Moschitta Jr, though..and don't think I haven't tried.

It's nothing complex , you start talking in default speed , about the same as everyone and if the other person seems not to understand slow it down.

Some people especially old people are extremely slow and can't remember anything unless you repeat it a few times and do it very slow and use a lot of emotional tone-like vocals.

Yes, I talk incredibly fast. However, I have trained myself to talk slowly, and have to concentrate to do so. I can easily lapse into fast talking if I don't concentrate, but can make myself talk slowly in general. The trouble with talking fast is that people can assume you're nervous, and thus you gain more power in the situation if you talk slowly. Or some people assume you're being aggressive if you talk fast, and so they become defensive. Also, if you talk fast, a lot of people for whom English is not their first language will just zone out because they can't understand. So that is why I trained myself to talk slowly.
