I dont get 5-minute showers, either. I've tried before, i didnt feel like anything was getting clean!

i get up at 6-6:15 AM, take a nice, 40 minute shower, and then take my time getting ready. I have a perfect routine that stays the same every day. :). I keep track of everything in minutes...It's part of my wake up process, since i am NOT a morning person. XD.

but i can leave the house in 5 minutes if i had a shower that day. just throw on clothing and flip-flops. :D

It takes me about 50 minutes to get ready from when I get out of bed to when I leave the house.

This does not include the other 50 minutes I need from when my alarm clock first goes off until I'm finally awake and alert enough to get out of bed.

I totally agree with you MrVulcan. I don't understand how it takes me so long, really, but it is truly impossible to do it any faster and I can't comprehend how people can do it.

It seems as unbelievable as the laughable "5 minute shower".

This one really hits home with me because, living in a drought-ridden area, I hear the comercials on the radio all the time about taking a 5 minute shower to save water. Everytime I hear this I am always like WTF??? Are people actually capable of doing that??? My mom used to take a quick "wash up" shower sometimes that was only a few minutes. I can't fathom it. It takes me longer than that to even half-heartedly wash myself lol much less do a good job. I just don't understand how people can possibly do this without rushing like a maniac and who wants that???
It takes me 11-12 minutes to shower except on days when I wash my hair.

If I really hurry then I can take a shower in 8 minutes and feel disgusting all day long. Then I'll want to take a shower when I get home to do it correctly.

I get up at 7:00 and usually leave at 7:43.

Five minute shower would be washing your hair and get out. No washing body or shaving.

Yeah, me too... though lately I've managed to reduce the time to get out of bed to 20-30 minutes.

That's people whose shower faucets probably are like Niagara Falls, they would waste a lot of water in just 5 minutes. But when you have a shower where you have to wait first for water to start dripping from it, I say "screw them!". I mean, my water bill is one of the lowest in the whole country, in all likelihood, so no way am I going to spend LESS water than I already do.

Ha! It takes me 5 minutes just to get undressed and rinse out the tub before I even step into it! A whole shower, including drying off and putting deodorant & new clothes on, takes me at least 50-60 mins.

I work at home. The alarm goes off at 5:30. I walk to my home office and turn on the 'puter then walk to the kitchen. If there's coffee left in the pot from yesterday then I pour myself a cup and I'm at work by 5:35. If there's no coffee left then I have to make a new pot and I'm not at work till about 5:37.

I chose <30 min, but i do like a LOT of time to actually get ready (usually 2 hrs). Course this was brought about with a family that kept a good schedule and assigning tasks that HAD to be taken care of prior to leaving for school. So while it takes me say 15 - 20 min to sctually get ready, i like that extra time to make sure im comfortable before heading out.

edit: bear in mind, i take my shower at night, never in the morning. Id much rather be clean before going to bed rather than sleeping in my own sweat and grime. :D I also dont do coffee (sodas instead), and my breakfasts are usually something fast (not always healthy, but i dont like getting fancy for breakfast when living alone).

I knew an aspie female who took 4-5 hours to get ready every morning. I have another AS friend who moves in slo-mo in the morning and it takes him forever. I used to be the same, but I have started picking out my clothes and jewelry and shoes the night before so I can get out the door quicker.

Spend a couple years in the military, where on the best of days you only have 15 minutes total to do all your morning ablutions and on the worst of days you only have 30 seconds in the shower before the next guy gets shoved in there with you, and you will learn to take a <5 minute shower. You basically just jump in, rub some soap over whatever you need to clean the most for 15 seconds, try to rinse as much of it off as you can for the next 15, and then jump out.

As for me, I like to get most of my stuff done in the night, because knowing that I have a bunch of stuff to do in the morning makes it hard to sleep, and I find that most of the time, the more tasks I have to do and the shorter the time constraint to do them, the more my 'overloaded' meter builds up and the longer it takes me to actually do each individual task.

So, I shower and get my clothes and anything else I need for the day ready the night before, and when I get up all I have to do is throw my clothes on, use the bathroom, brush my teeth and comb my hair and I'm out the door (I usually skip breakfast). And, of course, deal with morning sluggishness (another reason I do things the night before; I can do them way faster than I would if I did them in the morning right after waking up). All of that takes me about 20 minutes.

I usually give myself between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on whether I need to have a shower. But this is because I don't make any effort. I have hardly any clothes so choosing what to wear is easy, if I do have a shower I have a quick one and don't bother shaving my legs, only do that when I see my boyfriend and I don't wear make up at work. I usually don't have breakfast, which I wish I did, I miss it but I can't force myself to get out of my nice safe bed any earlier. I don't even turn on the TV. Sometimes I very quickly check my emails, if I'm expecting something.

Basically I rush because I want to sleep as long as possible. I should go to bed earlier but I can't force myself because I know when I wake up it'll be time for work. *sigh*
