I've felt like people sometimes despise me for such things, but I really couldn't say that anyone did anything about it until last spring. I actually was dating someone (gasp), and she bought a DDR game for her Wii. I used to play DDR a lot, so I don't absolutely suck, by the way. Anyway, she started it up and played a song... and was absolutely awful.

I honestly like the game and wanted to give it a try. It's been a few years since I've played, after all. After I finished, she got back on, got a little frustrated, and blurted out, "I hate it that you're always so much better than me at everything! Just go home!" Well, that took me by surprise. I left, and we ended up breaking up a few days later. Honestly, it wasn't over DDR, though. :P

Knowledge is power, I've understand a few years ago the first society unwriten rule: Don't share power and for us is don't share knowledge. My wife has still problem with it and usually ends-up frustrated while trying to help others.

Yes, and that's what the examples are there for. Inferring an idea/rule from examples is a crucial skill, and is what you applied here.

To be more precise, I mean advanced in the dictionary meaning "ahead of the times". The ability to foresee trends (as many have pointed out here above) and extrapolate from information received. This is considered a trait of Asperger's and one of the reasons for rejection from NTs.

In any case, I'm so used to being attacked by people who don't analyse what I say for its real meaning and rather jump to negative conclusions basing themselves on one word that holds negative memories for them, that I just routinely ignore them. They can't be fruitful debate partners for me, anyway.

I was teased in school about the fact that I read more books then other people.
I also got teased at times when the teachers praised me for my work. (I am sure lots of people have experienced that)

Oh yes. It was the hardest things to understand that people can became upset when you do something really better than them.

Hidden rule: never talk about your skill, fake shy when someone talk about it.

Yep!

I remember some years ago in OZ there was company that was near to closing down... the workers decided to keep it alive by working for less money in return for shares. Great idea and it did work for a while until it was bought out by an overseas company The original company put out tinned fruit, baked beans etc.

When I told some rellies that I had telephoned the company to let them know that more people, like myself, would buy their products if they didn't add sugar and salt to their products.I want to buy Australian products but I wont if they are unhealthy.
My rellies thought I was completely crazy.... and possibly stupid and "up myself".

However, It was not too long afterwards that adding salt and sugar was considered unhealthy for diabetics and non diabetics alike. I'm non diabetic but I have a sibling who is and I try to keep up with the latest news on the status of products regarding health.

Another thing was parabens, and sodium laural sulphate in cosmetic products... soaps, deodorants etc. Also additives in most processed products.

Being AWARE of what is going on is considered as weird . I don't know why! But I've often been "put down" for mentioning such things .

Normal people shouldn't be given very new ideas without due preparation to accept them. They feel threatened and become defensive, attacking the messenger. Aspies don't figure this and don't do this, so we get the brunt for having shocked them. See how teachers at school rarely teach something new - they usually build the new concept as an addition to a concept already mastered by the students. In teaching, this tactic is called "warm-up".

I was explaining to my Doctor (who didn't appear to have heard of ADD) that I thought I had it, having gone through the diagnostic 'checklist'.

I then mentioned that this condition can affect up to 15% or more of the population to varying degrees (this was some time ago so please don't jeer too much)

When she heard this she closed her note book, put her pen down in a very deliberate way and like a recorded message explained that if this was affecting 15% of the population this was NORMAL..............'and that was all she wrote'

I thought her head was going to start spinning round like in the Exorcist :?

No, because most the other kids thought I was stupid and had no skills. Then one day when I revealed my piano skills in a music class, everyone gathered around me and thought I was great.

Often. Even the high-school teachers (1970-1975) mocked me for suggesting that certain things we now take for granted were possible.

Things like:

• A black man as president
• A global pandemic (e.g., HIV-AIDS)
• A peaceful end to the Cold War
• Affordable electric cars
• Affordable hybrid gas-electric vehicles
• Cameras that don't use photographic film
• Digital dashboards
• Instant electronic mail
• Instant global news
• Mobile telephones that fit in your pocket
• Personal computers
• Same-sex marriage
• Satellite TV
• Self-driving cars
• Sex-reassignment surgery
• Video cameras that fit in your pocket
• Virtual reality

No. With every everyday thing I have managed to do I got the 'it's a miracle' response.
