Humans are selfish beings, the difference is whether they can convince people they are not through social conventions. When are programmed to have wants and needs.

His website's been restored, with a message in his blog posted today saying that he's in the hospital.

I don't know this guy, but I've been concerned along with nearly everyone else here. I'm so glad to see that he's getting help.

I wasn't concerned (I don't care if unknown people kill themselves or not. As if someone who lacks empathy would genuinely care).

I don't lack empathy. I care if anybody suffers. It's not a great way to live. Just because I feel it doesn't mean I know what to do.
I found his Twitter page and saw a reference to the hospital,being unhappy about it and a reference to cellphone GPS chips which is I guess how they found him. I didn't post about it because there was a later post with another suicide note and I didn't know if he was still in. I'm glad the most recent post indicates that he's still in. A friend of mine's father was hospitalized under similar circumstances (left a note), he was in for a while and then convinced them that he was okay. They released him and he went home and killed himself. Zach's never said if he was receiving any medical or therapeutic treatment. It's true that meds won't fix his situation but maybe it will give him the strength to work things out or at least come to terms with it.

Good if he's getting some help.

He'll probably show his gratitude to everyone concerned for him by suing WP again, but hey, at least he's getting help.
