Systemizing Quotient - 59
Empathy Quotient - 19
Autism Spectrum Quotient - 34
Mind in the Eyes - 22, although my initial reaction to most of them was indifferent / bored. If you could choose any emotion instead of just 4 I'd have done much worse.

In my mind, how strongly I agree or disagree is related to the simple question of having difficulty, not to how *often* I might have difficulty! But, maybe that is one of the points of the test ...

Yeah, and also since frequency depends on how often one does/attempts something. The questions like "how often does someone tell you X?" were hard because I don't talk people much (and never really have), so it's not so often, but that's because it's really difficult.

Systemizing: 40 (a little on the high-ish side

Empathizing: 7 (oh god, i really AM "coldblooded" O_o)

Autistic Spectrum Quotient: 42 (definitely autistic)

Mind In the Eyes: 28 (wow. It's a pretty good score, but in actual social situations i'm clueless. I think the fact the it's multiple choice helped.. I got most of them by eliminating the ones i thought it probably wasn't.)

Systemizing : 22

Empathizing: 10 - It upset me a lot the first time I took the test and scored so low. It still upsets me now but I don't know how to change it.

Autistic Spectrum Quotient: 39

Mind In the Eyes: 26 - The ones I got wrong were really far off, like completely opposite of what the right answer was. They also started to freak me out about halfway through when my eyes kind of defocused and there were all these creepy eyes looking at me.

I was a little upset when I saw my score also. I'm not sure your reasons for being upset, but I questioned whether or not I was really a caring individual. Then I realized that not having a strong ability to put myself "in someone's shoes" does not mean that I'm not a caring individual. I just don't necessarily know or understand why they are upset. But that doesn't make me care any less.

Also, I don't totally agree that some of the questions are a valid measure of empathy. Some seem like they measure your willingness to adhere to societal norms.

I'm sorry if I'm way off par.

I took this test in the past and scored low for both empathy and systemizing...I think I also did pretty badly on the reading the eyes test...I should probably take it again. It has been a while.

Me too, very low on SQ actually (16). I wonder if it's the presence of executive dysfunction
low average on EQ 36
within range for AQ-32
eye test pretty good-34

I think rdos test is more comprehensive for AQ

Yeah the low score made me think that maybe I'm really a heartless b**** and don't realise it. There are some questions that I have a hard time answering or that don't really apply but even taking the test a few times to change some answers around the highest I can get being honest is 17. After reading what you wrote though I went back and read the questions again and it does seem geared towards your ability to put yourself in someone else's shoes which I do have trouble with. You're also right about some questions having nothing to do with empathy. So thanks for pointing it out. I wasn't really taking the low score too seriously but now it at least makes more sense. I just didn't really think about it before.

Empathy is different from simpathy or caring. I lack empathy but I'm very good at caring, they simply need to explain me their need instead of trying to make me find them out.

I have always had trouble with these kinds of tests. I never feel like I'm able to convey an accurate picture. I filled out a form during my son's recent OT eval and I think the therapist remembered my difficulties with this from last time because she patiently went through it with me afterwards. On another test an example of this is the question about noticing details. I have difficulty finding something in a crowded drawer unless I consciously pick out one aspect of the object and scan only for that. On the other hand I'm pretty good at picking out background details in movies. So if the question is do you notice details -well yes and no. Always/somewhat? Oh dear, I don't know.
