I get treated like child mostly because i look like a child - when being 4ft tall you can't expect anything else really, not here where I live. And even if I were taller than that, unless you put some serious face and pretend to be worldly and wise, you get the same treatment.
Those "other" folks have only been more exposed to social contact and more accustomed to it. I used to get upset when being called "childish" or immature - but nowadays I just couldn't care less. As if they worry what I think of them, why should it be vice versa?
I used to pretend I know less than I really do otherwise I would be treated like a freak, now I just don't care - I'm trying to be "me" no matter who that may be or what they might think of me. It's just a artificially set up social conformity in this largely NT society anyway.

I've only gotten it from job coaches, but I let it pass because they are used to working with the mentally handicapped, so they do it without thinking.
