Not so much the computer, but more the things I can do with it. My current one is 2 years old and although I'll keep this one, I might take 'a taste of the apple' later this year.

My computer is pretty important, although I can live without it for several days if I have to. My sister's boyfriend, OTOH... I'd say there's a pretty good chance he's an aspie, and he and his laptop are inseparable. He even takes it outside with him to keep working on it (programming) when he goes out for a few minutes for a smoke.

That boyfriend was at my house last night and he tried to go out for a smoke without his laptop. I noticed he went out without it (I was thinking, "That's wierd..."), but then he came back in a second later and said, "Oh, who am I kidding?" He grabbed the laptop and took it outside.

Way too attached, I should be practicing my guitar instead of looking at forums.<sigh>

Peace

Yes. I love my refurbished Dell laptop. I wish my wireless card worked so I could carry it around everywhere.

And I should be doing something else too, but I can't think what right now.

well i just spent the whole night on the pooter again. somehow i always intend to be on it just til 2 or 4am cuz i should go to sleep at some point too, but then like 10 hours swoops by and it's morning... and then i go sleep or sometimes even then i won't get unglued and a few more hours swoops by and it's afternoon and i have to take a shower and go buy food and stuff and then i prolly go sleep til it's like 8-10pm and then i turn on TV, though i usually watch it while on the pooter... and then when tv runs out of stuff i turn it off and focus on the pooter stuff all night again til i'm so tired my brain starts to shut off and i have to go sleep.

my pooter's name is Panda, btw. :P

I got a Dell Laptop just last year, and I am in love with it. It might not be the most powerful thing, but it plays my favourite games with no problem (though often on minimum settings). I seriously take it everywhere with me, though it's not complete without a wireless connection

I'm looking into Dell Laptops for my son.

What model do you have? Have you had any significant problems with it?

My computer has all my music and all my game saves on it and i really don't want to lose either of them but yes i do rather spend too much time sat at this machine. It's worse cause i have a little box that allows me to play my games consoles on my monitor so i just need to press a button to switch between the two.

I wouldn't say i was attached to my computer, but i do look after it (though it does have a crack in the top perspex window on it, a picture frame fell on it, luckily the picture frame was worse off). I do all maintenence on it myself, and will never run a single microsoft, err i mean evilsoft, program on it. I won't allow anyone else to use it unless i otherwise allow them to, just a small precaution to stop people fiddling with it

I'm due to get a laptop at the end of may/beginning of june and I will look after that just as well, I will be using that as well as my desktop, just so i can transfer stuff onto a USB drive, then work on it on the move, also ideal for staying online anywhere in the house, i can't wait :)

I would say that my computer is my best pal. I've spent a small fortune on getting the best components for it.

Without it I wouls be lost. It is a gateway to other realms via the Internet.

...time for a little song...

I love my computer
You make me feel alright
Every waking hour
and every lonely night
I love my computer
for all you give to me:
predictable errors and no identity
And it's never been quite so easy
I've never been quite so happy
All I need to do is click on you
and we'll be joined
in the most soul-less way
And we'll never ruin each other's day
'cuz when I'm through I just click
and you just go away
I love my computer
you're always in the mood
I get so turned on
when I turn on you
I love my computer
you never ask for more
You can be a princess
or you can be my whore
And it's never been quite so easy
I've never been quite so happy
The world outside is so big
but it's safe in my domain
Because to you
I'm just a number
and a clever screen name
All I need to do is click on you
and we'll be together for eternity
And no one is ever gonna take my love
from me because I've got security
her password and a key
