My favourite colour is light Emerald Green, I collect minerals and I have a large Emerald crystal. It makes my eyes feel less tired when I gaze at it.

Well, I think that the anecdotal evidence demonstrates that it is possible for an Aspie to have a favorite colour. (Mine is Kingfisher Blue).

What I am interested in knowing is why the OP asked the question? Is there an Aspie trait that the OP has that inhibits this kind of decision? If, for example, I associated different colours with different things that I took pleasure in, I might find it difficult to select only one as my favourite.

As a child my favourite colour was blue, closely followed by green and purple (either side of it on the colour spectrum). As I became an adult I added a fondness for red, and now find myself being attracted to a particular shade of golden yellow.

In fact, basically I love colour. I seem to have ended up with a'uniform' of trousers (preferably cords) and long sleeved tops, almost all in single colours, which I mix and match to contrast but not clash e.g red trousers look great with grey tops, green tops and to a certain extent blue, but not with purple or orange. My purple trousers look best with green or white (red, blue or black are no good at all), although I'm looking for a golden yellow top to go with them too. I love the contrast between colours, and I do like stripy things, with multicoloured stripes. I don't like pastel or pale or luminous colours much, mainly bright or dark ones, but in general most 'good' colours in the right combinations look good and I can take quite a child-like pleasure in seeing colourful things, or occasionally become motivated to buy whole series of things if they are all in different colours.

Mine is orange. I also like purple and in fact more colours, though brighter is better in my opinion. -MaS

Yes some inface most aspies have opinions and yes they do have religious beliefs and yes they do creep out over a man they may find creepy, I knew someone who is an aspie with all those and he did freak out when he bumped into a creepy woman one day

I'm just autistic and yes I do have a behaviour of an aspie. I would of done the same thing... But the difference is I'd just be friendly to a creepy woman or anyone in general unless they said something creepy.

I hope you knew I was being sarcastic with my questions.

Sarcasm on an aspie forum? 8O

So I guess we have a sense of humor also. :P ...although I'm not sure if I caught the sarcasm or not.

We need special punctuation for sarcasm around here. And that wasn't sarcasm. It would seriously be helpful.

I think most aspies will have a favorite color. I think liked and hated colors can be more intense for an aspie than an NT. Aspies can become transfixed with things that they like. Also take into account sensory issues. An aspie might like blue because it's not bright and dosen't hurt their eyes, but they might hate bright yellow. Aspies and NTs just have different reasons for what they pick as liked and disliked. Example: An NT girl likes pink because it's socially acceptable and almost expected for a girl to like pink. An aspie girl likes pink because she's obsessed with flamingos. An NT boy likes red because it's his favorite football team. An aspie boy likes red because he is obsessed with fire trucks. Creative NTs also do weird things, like associate colors with their mood.

This is just a theory I have. I'm an aspie but I actually don't know why green is my favorite color. There are probably some aspies who don't have a favorite color...or they just don't feel the need to tell someone. Discussing favorite colors is a social desire (at times), people lower on the spectrum may not have this social desire.

Well I can't determine what aspies can or can not have, but I don't really have a favorite color. I have a few colors which I think look nice, but usually they need to be in certain combinations, and it either changes or is unique to that. Nothing definitive, but I can name a few I like. Maroon, Irish green, sky blue, a sort of white purple pastel of which I don't know the name...

Why do people ask such questions, as if If you have Asperger's you must have everything unlike anyone else?

Yes. My son has liked blue forever and just recently changed to red.

I, on the otherhand, have not been able to choose a favorite color in a very long time, if ever. Someone pointed out to me that i do choose certain items that are green, so i think i like green? I hate stupid surveys that ask yourt favorite colors because i never know what to put.
