Are aspies more (or less) ashamed of being nude in public?

I'm not so much into AB anymore because I got over my depression and I was never that extreme of the case such as that guy was. He was so far into it, it was impairing me while with me, I was able to put it aside and be a big girl and leave it at home.

I've gone nude in my own home because it be hot out. I keep my clothes off but I'd leave my panties or diapers on of course which ever I had on down there. Back in Montana, I wore a bathing suit. I'd come home from work and strip to my birthday suit and put on my bathing suit. But here in the Dottie and Kit state, I was naked in my room and I would wear a bathrobe when I go downstairs in case anyone came to the door. Then I did the same thing here in my apartment unless we were using AC and then we got fans so I didn't need to be naked anymore. But then I had to wear a bra because my breasts got tender and sore.

Very self-conscious. Be lucky to go to the beach in a bathing suit. idk why. Always been like this.

I think it all depends how you were raised and how you were treated as a kid to have 'shame' around being in the nude. When I lived (as a caretaker) at a nudist camp I saw children with their friends running around without a care in the world. Those kids became teens without body issues and were no more inclined to 'get into trouble' than any teens fully clothed.

I was teased for being overly 'modest' as a child, but I am certain it was my reaction to molestation, not because I was an Aspie.

I only wear clothes for utility really, I spent years shirtless during my wildman phase. Figured if people thought I was a bit deranged, may as well stop caring. Wild hair, naturally three forked beard, shirtless, barefoot, jeans... but otherwise nice looking young guy... comes leaping out of the woods, not a trail or anything, just straight through... keeps on across the street, then dashes off through the woods on the other side.

Got a few looks there.

I like being naked, not ashamed of my body, nor should anyone be. Silly taboo is silly.


Was at Border's bookstore with my gf one day, we go to leave and get warned "there's a man running around half naked out there"... 'well, it's nothing I haven't seen while changing my clothes... I'll live'... then someone outside says he headed towards this restaurant up the road, so I had to quip 'maybe he was hungry?'

Interesting. What kind of tip did he leave?

Also, how did you get into those "Must wear shirt and shoes" places? I'm still tempted to walk into one of those with no pants...

and why were you wearing diapers in your own home?

I have participated in a few clothing-optional activities, with no ensuing trauma....Another art space that we were friends with had an event called "Naked Tuesday" which occurred whenever a month had a 5th tuesday in it...it was a goofy, clothing optional social gathering with themes and bands and such...my band played, and i was partially nude....um...I have also modeled for life drawing a few times (in the nude)...even though I am hardly an ideal female specimen..short and roundish..

I walk into places barefoot, they tell me I can't come in without shoes, I ask if they would have turned away Jesus for being barefoot, then walk past them into the store.

Act like you're supposed to be exactly where you are, no one questions you really. If they do, ask what they're doing there, and leave.

Modesty is a value imposed by society.

People with AS tend to be very rational. The reasons to NOT be nude are not always seen as a value worth heeding.

I have no problems with being nude in public, but I can honestly say that once you've seen naked bodies, it gets old real fast.

That, and as others (NTs) joke, only sexy people should be allowed to go nude. The average person who goes to the nude beach (here in the USA) tends to be people you'd gladly pay to keep their clothes on.

I cover up not so much due to modesty, but I don't quite qualify as one of the "sexy" people and I understand that others are uncomfortable with excess of flesh, so I try to respect their feelings (now that I know better).

I have been nude on stage a couple of times, with no issues. The fourth wall is a significant protection.

Being nude on a nude beach would not disturb me, either. Being nude among others who are nude means I don't stand out.

Being nude among people who are clothed, however, without some framework (such as being on stage) would be troublesome.

I used to run around shirtless until I was 9. I was skinny and did not have a sense of body. Other girls, NTs no doubt, were appalled by my freedom. As a young adult I did not care if any of my clothes were less than opaque. I just did not care, but this attracted perverts, and for my own safety I covered up more.

I like the freedom from clothes but then freeshows are not my style. I have never been to a naturist park and have no interest. It also might be modesty. I do not like my privacy invaded by others, and I am offended by gawkers.
