I was curious if other Aspies did this.
I do this with everything around me.
Mom and dad break very heavily on the car, rotors are warped. so I think "that's not right" so I brake very carefully in the car.
Audio system, hook this mic and hang other object, works alright = "that's correct"
someone says thank you to me = complete confusion.

Perseverative tendencies can go hand in hand with ASD's. In fact, many, many people with ASD's will ruminate and worry about every social interaction prior and post event. Each social interaction is analysed and judged and a summation or conclusion is often made or drawn post-event. And often, we glean belated understanding as a result of this processing. We also spend a lot of energy trying to figure out what others mean, as the verbal (which we primarily rely on,) is only a part of the communicative exchange.
This kind of analysis is in fact standard practice for many of us. Tiring too.
And often, the only antidote is a limiting of social interaction, as someone noted in another thread yesterday!

I think this issue applies more to men than women. A man is expected to fight for what's his otherwise he just isn't regarded as a man.
Again, it's back to the animal kingdom. The female is more likely to mate with the male who barges through the pack and takes her roughly than the male who hides in the background waiting for the aggressive males to go away because the aggressive male is more likely to protect her children. Women want stability and a weak male is unable to provide that.

I agree it's tiring and didn't know it was an Aspie trait (for some of us atleast) I think back to before the suspension and while it'll be 5 years Feb. I still think WOW where did I go wrong?! What did I do?! Maybe A,B,C,D but I never got to sit and talk to the person I upset (my Psychology teahcer) so sadly I'm not sure if I'll ever know what TRUE issues she had with me which is unfourtunante because I see the whole suspension as your behaivor upset a Psychologist which is a SERIOUS PSYCHOLOGICAL ISSUE and you need to learn to fix your behavior before moving on in life (why you ask) IMO do you want to have WORSE behavior and upset a cop therefore landing in jail? NO! LOL! So yes it can be hard. Thanks.
