Yes! I love anime references. I don't remember the context, but once on TV they were talking about a con of some kind - I think it was Comicon - and I practically freaked because I caught a glimpse of someone dressed as Hellsing's Alucard. :D

Back when I loved B&J, I loved hearing about Spokane on TV or when I overhear someone mentioning it. I also loved it when I'd hear about Johnny Depp or any other B&J actors.

Not anymore because it's usual about that stupid show Meerkat Manor and not actual meerkats.

What about this factual meerkat documentrary? :D

I don't hear about it at all in real life because I'm in the US and Compare the Meerkat seems to be a British thing. I think the whole thing is "stupids" though.

I get excited when I see special interest threads!
To answer your question properly: yes, yes I do.
Someone could say the word 'photo' or 'camera' and I'd be off on a rant.
Or on the news they could say "scientists have just discovered..." and my eyes will be opened very wide and my full attention will be on that news program. And sometimes they report the full story later, so I'm waiting half an hour wait for them to report on my special interest.

Oh, heavens yes. But my special interests are pretty obscure, so they're not mentioned often. That means that I'M the one who must bring it up in conversation. I get noticeably excited when I'm rambling about my special interests. Some of the times when I've felt the happiest in my whole life was from an incident where I was rambling about my special interest. It brings euphoria. I like talking about special interests, in general, too. It's the part of AS that interests me most. I really only ever respond to the special interests topics on here.

Oh yeaaaaah! Tell me about it!! My special interest "YouTube" gives a thrill in me like nothing else. I get crazy inside myself if I hear these words in combination but when I do then I try all my best to not to show it. In fact I try to not show any attention at all or even pretend to not knowing what it is...

If my special interest comes up by coincidence in a conversation with others, I get a funny and pleasant feeling inside my head, it feels a little bit like pressure, like bubbling and racing thoughts, and I have to suppress an urge to just interrupt the others, bursting out with what I want to say. It makes me feel happy and eager, that's for sure. :)

Ohhh yes. Anytime someone mentions that they have a dog I immediately bombard them with questions about what breed, how old, who the breeder was, etc. One time one of my college professors mentioned that he had a Doberman (my favorite!) in class. I almost died.

I get very excited at the mention of my special interest. My special interest for the last year and a half has been the 2008 flood and flood recovery of Cedar Rapids and Palo, Iowa.

Today, as an example, our local library board had a conversation as to where to put our new library (the old was destroyed in the 2008 flood). The local newspaper had it set up to where you could interject comments to the library board. I was like a fat kid in a candy store.

There have been times, where I get so excited about my special interest, it is hard for me to look it up online.
