Yeah, you're 'autistic', according to the criteria doctors have created. But you're still you, and the same you you always were.

You'll get this shock again when you realize you're 40.
When you realize you are, actually, mortal.
When you realize you aren't going to be rich and famous.
When you realize your family is full of fallible, regular people and not heroes and saviours.

It's just part of life. Everyone has something, this is your thing. Great! You have a label. Now move on.

You know what ? f**k you.

She's telling the truth, though, and she's not being mean about it either. There are going to be lots of things in life that freak you out like that, and you will move on, because that's part of what life is about.

I do consider myself as autistic as many people still don't know what asperger's syndrome is and lack the awareness of it.

It sounded pretty mean to me and to my mother as well. We were both rather offended.

I apologize if you were offended by what I posted. It wasn't meant as an attack.
I've had a lot of problems in my life, and as a result have been 'diagnosed' with a lot of different things. At this point in my life though, I realize that a diagnosis doesn't change anything, really. It really is just a label. A set of traits you show. It doesn't make you 'good' or 'bad' or anything really. You can use the literature to try and understand why you behave as you do, but even educating yourself won't change who you are.

Eventually you'll realize, hopefully, that you're just fine as you are. That you don't have to change or fight yourself because other people have put a label on you and told you there's something "wrong" with you.

You'll be happier if you can accept and even embrace yourself just the way you are, and once you can do that you can move on with your life.

I won't take offence to your insult, because I think it was based on a miscommunication. Tone is hard to imply over the internet.
