The whole point is that NT is meant to parody both the style and the descriptions of autism found in the DSM-IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition).

The term "neurotypical" is highly misleading. Because it means "non-autistic", yet it implies that someone is "neurologically typical". What about people who have neurological disorders that are not autism? Does that mean they're "neurotypical"??? NO. It means they're non-autistic. I think they just need to throw the whole "NT" thing out and call it "non-autistic".
