I would have to disagree with the article.

I am a native of Houston, Texas, which is rainier than Seattle in an average year, and the autism rate is not very high here.

Yet another crazy idea about cause of autism! Does anyone else remember the year when brocolli was said to cause cancer? Because shortly afterwards this was denied... then suddenly eating the STALKS on broccoli gave you cancer the top prevented it... now it's preventing cancer no matter which part you eat... What I am saying is that a lot of 'causes' come out and I wonder how many are even getting close!

BROCCOLI CAUSES AUTISM!! !

Lol, someone just linked the actual study... first off, I see a big flaw in the fact that they didn't take any data whatsoever from outside of the US, and didn't even take data from everywhere in the US anyway. These people are so bizarre....

Granted, they are just using a small sample of places, but couldn't even get accurate information from the 3 states they focused on to use and went on with it anyway.

It starts you off wanting you to register or log in or something-just click "skip ad" and it lets you go to the study.

I read about that a while ago. Next they'll be saying that using a mobile phone while pregnant increasing the risk of autism.
I was premi, suspected to be still born and had to have a blood transfusion while still in the womb. I'm not sure if that contributed to me being autistic. My dad was somewhere on the spectrum. My sister told me that I'm exactly like him. Sometimes I suspect my mum too.

You know I just moved to Seattle. I moved here because sunlight was harder on my eyes, and coming from Florida there was lots of that. I think maybe people on the spectrum would probably just prefer the cloudier atmosphere thus deciding to move here, and then of course because it tends to be hereditary, they have children.. lol.

I don't know. Could it be that simple?

... Also.. Could it be a draw for tech types to work here in Seattle? I mean Microsoft is here after all. Since people on the spectrum tend to be more technically inclined... I don't know, I'm taking leaps here I'm sure. But so was that article LOL.
