Well, if you only need the meds, I don't know if it's possible where you live - but my psychiatrist just sent a letter to my family doctor, and I simply call my health care clinic when I need prescriptions, and go to pick them up a day later...

The company I work for dropped it's plan like many small companies. They can't afford it. I am uninsured. One med is a generic I can get for $4.00 and the other I get from the pharmaceutical company because there's no generic yet and I'm below poverty level.

Do you live in St. Louis? I think I had that exact same shrink.

The thing I learned about shrinks is they don't care about you and they think all your problems can be solved with their dumb little prescription pad, and they know less about the drugs they're handing out to little kids than the average druggie knows about how things interact. 75% of the people I met in those offices needed a life change, to get a hobby or find some way to get motivated. They didn't need dangerous drugs that can kill them, especially when we don't understand how they work. Funny how when I stop taking the drugs half my problems disappear...

True for some, but for me meds did what 45 years of trying to "snap out of it" didn't.

Actually this one might have been in St. Charles. I live on the Illinois side and I know we had to drive for-flipping-ever to get there. I couldn't drive back then; I was 15 or so, and I didn't pay attention to locations very well. My psychiatrist was an Indian woman who was convinced my diagnosis of OCD was incorrect. Instead of telling me this she just started medicating me as if I were bipolar, then wondered why the medication caused a suicide attempt when I had been enjoying life just before the meds started. Her solution: up the dosage.

EDIT: She might have been Pakistani or something. I don't remember her exact nationality but it was south Asian.
