The thing I don't get is why famous people, such as rappers and pop "stars", are blamed for teenager's lack of values, etc. If this is the case, why are theey so easily led? Can't they think for themselves? Perhaps an advantaged to having Asperger's is that we are immune to this kind of thing?

I feel the exact same way. It's one of the reasons I didn't like teenagers when I was one. I just don't understand why they feel the need to behave the way everyone else does. I know they're under peer pressure, but that shouldn't dictate how they communicate & the words they use. I really wish people would start being themselves more. It's really annoying.

I find it very disturbing how similar people act. Everybody acts and thinks the same, a corrupt goverment that claims to be watching you all the time... 1984 Anyone?! O_O

Most people's lives are pre-programmed:

1 Be born
2 Go to school
3 Join the rat-race
4 Have children /* identical program starts here for the children */
5 Stay in the rat race
6 Die

Very few individuals deviate from this program and some of them push the humanity forward.

OMG I watched this stupid show tonight called "Keeping up with the Kardashians" has anyone seen it? It was just like the teens I was talking about. The females in this family all talk the same way with the same expressions, words, monotones...I swear the world is going mad. 8O

And the unfortunate soul who DOES deviate from the program can expect a really rough time and a lot of people wondering what is wrong with him/her. Humanity either doesn't want to be pushed forward or doesn't see that the nonconformists are the ones responsible for progress.

you really think so :?: i hope you do not mind if i disagree. everyone does stupid things in their life at some point, yet i do not think everyone acts like identical automatons. even the least conformist people will sometimes imitate others without knowing it, but there is a fine line between that and all the uninspiring morons on tv.

Reminded me of a hitchhiker's quote.

"And then, one Thursday, nearly two thousand years after one man had been nailed to a tree for saying how great it would be to be nice to people for a change..."

i always thought aspies were the bland talkers
they bash nt's so much but a lot of them accomplish little, often too afraid to do anything
I was guilty of this too, up until about a year ago

Pretty much yes, I go to a High School so I would know. Even the "nerds" conform and all like the same things, look the same and laugh at the same things. Most other males are all "gangstas" in the "ghetto" even though they live comfortable lives in middle class homes. Most females all die their hair blonde or black and pick a matching personality, it's like they buy a package from a store which tells them what to look like and how to act. Around 95% of people at my school act like a walking stereotype and the other 5% tend to be picked on and/or ignored for being different. I'm in the 5%, luckily I'm in the ignored section, mostly because I'm taller than the "gangstas" and have a rather nasty expression when I'm at school.

There's one guy who gets bullied every day for no reason other than the fact that he has a short temper, on his birthday everybody ganged up to give him "birthday punches". Rather like a primitive tribe actually.

I still am, I don't like change much and it scares me to try new things. I don't take risks much either...
