I wish. My mom doesn't anymore. She says I have to learn to do it.

I do it just because I can't hear.

I once tried to buy a car part from a scrap yard in the UK. I couldn't understand the guy at all, he had the thickest cockney accent ever. I had my friend (who is not british) take over the call, it didn't go well for him in either direction, until he started doing a fake british accent. Then the other guy could understand him fine.

I consider myself NT but I HATE using the phone. When I'm calling my mother, I'm OK about that, or if I'm calling one of my in-laws. But all in all, I prefer a) letting the answering machine screen my calls, or b) sending an e-mail/IM. I think it's because I'm more in control of the situation that way.

I don't like calling people and never have. I don't like getting calls, either. Sometimes at work It'll be suggested that we need to call someone about something and I sort of wait for someone else to do it first so I won't have to. Once in a while, though, I'll take the initiative and make the call just to make it look good. I pretty much use my Iphone as a toy and wen someone calls me on it I get startled because I forget it's actually a phone. I'll text but I'd just as soon use e-mail for everything.

I make and take calls all day at work so it does not bother me. The advantage of the phone is you don't have to read their body language(which is very hard for us aspies to do) or their facial expressions(which is very hard for us aspies to do). You just go off of what they are saying. and how they are saying it.

I live with my mom, and she's kinda hardcore...."do it yourself" attitude....so I'll make a phone call about my mobile phone bill, and then she makes me tell her what I said, then she gets mad because I didn't explain myself right, or because I "don't know how to defend myself" so then she'll just pick a fight about it....fabulous relationship, right?

When she asks me to make a phone call to solve HER problems, I usually decline and tell her to do it....since I apparently cannot say anything right or know how to defend myself in a conversation. UGH....really gets to me.

If you want something done right, do it yourself and don't ask me! =\

Haha, I wish I had someone use the phone for me. I live on my own so I can't rely on others...Well that's not entirely true. I have a roommate, but I feel silly asking him to make a simple phone call for me. It'll take me hours, even days before I finally get the nerve to call. And even then I stutter and correct myself non-stop.

No.

If I want to call, I have to (self-imposed rule).

I rang up the gun shop before asking for Carcano rifles.

I didn't know there was anyone left in the world that would want a Carcano.

We are both NOT among Alexander Graham Bell's biggest fans. Most incoming calls the answering machine screens. We pick up IF and only if there is good reason - and then the one who is called may ask the other to field it.

We call back when good and ready.

Often, I will call for her and vice versa - it depends who is more up for it, more likely not to do meltdown.

When I was younger I always had my mom call. I absolutely hated talking on the phone. I'm much better at it now then I used to be, but every once in awhile I still have someone else call.

No. I hate making phone calls, but since I can do it myself, I do it myself.

Well if it is just social...I dont mind, but those phone calls to bill companies etc....I just hate it. I feel like I can never say the right thing...ohh and voicemail...that is funny. Something about talking to a machine completely unnerves me and I end up sounding like a total idiot...like taking 3 times to get my own number correct thus totally confusing the person hearing the message.

And you are right men get alot further than women do on the phone. I remember when I had a student loan problem and I tried everything to reason with this person, but my dad talked to him and walla! problem solved.
Maybe I need to invent a devise that converts a woman' voice to a man's voice

I tend to have trouble on what to say so it's nice that my mom tends to call people. For example I saw a $43 charge on my credit card mom called for me and disputed it (we'll know in 7-10 days) she mention taking them to court LOL! But it's nice since I tend not to know what to say how about you?

I'm deaf. I don't make traditional phone calls. But I always text and email for myself. No mistakes are made this way and I am responsible.

The infamy of Oswald using one just adds to its appeal for me. They're good little rifles (the carbine that is). They're accurate, the action is smooth and fast, and the external and terminal ballistics of the cartridge are pretty good as long as you stay away from the original RN FMJ, all without the flash and noise of the .30 caliber stuff in a carbine length rifle. Plus, they're cheap as anything.

The only downside is that only one major manufacturer makes ammunition, but reloading is one of the fun parts of recreational shooting.
