Why is the assumption that Aspies automatically hate contact with everyone.

I can't handle it for prolonged periods, in uncontrolled situations, but I have people who I am quite fond of being around, and much as my cat yowls and barges into my lap to begin making out with my chin stubble when he gets the urge, I seek out contact with those I am fond of when I get the urge.

I wouldn't think that ALL of the cats have aspergers but I weirdly do kinda think that sometimes but then my mum's friend has a cat who seems to be there all through the time when we came over.

The parallels of stereotypes are interesting.

Not social -- actually many cats and autistic people are quite social and feral cats frequently live in colonies where female friend and relative cats help raise each other's children. (And autistic people socialize on boards like this one.)

Don't show emotion -- actually cats and autistic people do show emotion but it's just often either differently or in different circumstances

etc
