Thoughts being locked down.
For me it's more like a short period of "I don't get it."
I can still move, and hear things, but any sort of response becomes extremely stressful. It's as if I've lost most or all of my ability to process what's happening around me. Simply speaking feels like lifting a bag of bricks.
When I have a shutdown like that the only solution is to get away from everything, and give my brain time to deal with the backlog of information, and all the resulting stress.
