Just who are these evil 'NTs' anyway, btw are you able to spot someone's neurotypical trait, are you completely non judgemental about people. That by the way is a rhetorical question because you are very judgemental, in fact using your ridiculous pop culture psychology you are pre judging the entire population that have a neuro-typical diagnosis.

I know a lot of NTs but absolutely zero of them have an NT diagnosis.

I was trying to be just a tad sarcastic. As you would be well aware I find 'NT' bashing and stereotyping extremely annoying

Neither do mine. They simply accept that I am daft.

What's ironic is that many times, when you read "NT bashing", you only have to think a little bit to realize that, in roughly the same proportion it applies to NTs, it applies to everyone. It's more like people are seeing human nature and human ignorance and cruelty, and assuming that this is due to their being NT, when it has more to do with simply being fallible humans.

Journalists who write about Aspie criminals as though the crime had to do with their having Asperger's make the same mistake, incidentally.

Which is why we all should be replaced by robots and computers.

I think if computers ever become sentient, they'll have the same problems humans have.

Has anyone NT said anything like that to you?

Hells yeah, lots of them.

Some have told me that I am a failure because nobody has asked me out. And that my complex situation regarding my interactions at school years ago and the resulting fallout (no guys ever liked me) also means I'm a failure.

I was never called a failure, by any of the NTs in my life, ever.

If they take a Darwinian approach to their development. The attitudes now exist simply because they aid in survival and reproduction. People aren't exactly going to fawn on you for giving all your money to charity and helping a bunch of homeless people. They might give you a medal, but you're still not getting laid.

The fact is it's not about morality, or emotions. It's about what has the highest chance of survival. Whichever attitudes contribute most to reproduction and survival become the dominant predispositions in a society.

If you know how to get away with it, lying, cheating, manipulating, and immoral behavior in general acts as a great aid to both survival and reproduction. The problem is most people don't want to admit Darwin was right. They know it'll expose who they are, and why things are the way they've become.

Ironically, better behaviors will only come about when we acknowledge that these behaviors exist simply because they're beneficial to the individuals in question. Think about the glib charm of a sociopath, and the complete disregard for morality. Get laid a bunch of times with other men's wives, steal their money, and by Darwin you're doing great.

I'm not sure that the people that are that unapologetically judgmental and condemning are that typical neurologically or otherwise; and their assumed majority in the population is probably highly skewed due to the volume of their noisy rants.

I personally just wish the people at work would do more to mentor me. I *KNOW* I have problems interacting with co-workers; I CARE that I am not skilled at it; I just don't know HOW to do it any differently. So instead of 10 months later on my performance appraisal telling me that I didn't handle one conversation right, why not take me aside and give me pointers in a constructive way? You can tell put it on my performance review, but at least that would be helpful.

*sigh*

Obviously anyone who considers life a game where you are successful or unsuccessful is in dire need of acquaintance with some of the teachings of the Buddha. 8)

It's time to do away with the old Semitic myth of a vengeful god and time to infuse some real Oriental spirituality into our lives. :flower:

My NT parents judge me as a failure all the time. When I lose or quit a job. When I'm not doing well in school because I can't concentrate. My NT girlfriend is the only person close to me that does ever support me.

Some of the people I'm talking about don't even believe in the semitic venchfulgod.

Some of them are Buddhist.

(The issue isn't so much good NT/bad NT. It's about much more than that, and it's far more subtle.)
