I play with my fingers sometimes but have never thought that was strange. I used to play with my hands a lot as a kid - mostly pretending they were some people or monsters walking and waving hands :P

Funny. I do exactly the same thing. It was almost like seeing a picture of my own hand (though the hand looks different. ) In some funny way it's relaxing, though you shouldn't believe it. It might be a sensory thing.
I tend to do it when I am about to sleep, or relax when awake. Or if I sit down eg. on a couch, supporting my body with the curled hand on the couch. It may hurt though if I do it for a long time.
Or I support my chin on my curled hand. I don't flap while curling, though. Just flap with "flat" hands.

I do that all the time, without knowing it. I look at my left hand, and than I see it twisted, just like the hand, in the picture.

Yeah I hold my hands in WTF positions if I'm not moving them or feeling/fiddling with something.

i dunno bout twisting but in the normal resting position my fingers are curled in sorta, they don't like being straight. Not quite like a fist, but close.

I flutter my fingers rhythmically quite often when I’m stressed and I’m stressed a lot so I flutter my fingers a lot. The cool thing is that the nearly chronic fluttering has made me a good hand percussionist so I don’t mind it too often unless I’m in public, then I put my hands in my pocket….
