Thank you everyone for responding.

I'm rather new to my AS diagnosis - It came as a result in trying to investigate my loooooong term depression - so now I'm glad that I understand that some interests can be persistent, and others short term.

My obsessions with both medicine and woodworking/electrical are out of control. The problem is though that I have these extreme mood swings and depression can hinder my explosive obsessions. Before taking Zoloft, my mood swings were so bad that during my 'down times' the anxiety was so bad that I heard auditory hallucinations of unpleasant bone chilling music for a few seconds at a time. I fear the day that such events will once again haunt me.
