Well, not really party, but even better, NICE AND QUIET!! !! The party only goes on in my head as I am practically "dancing" to the freedom of noise, and people checking on me. but a quiet party to yourself is the best, so in a way it is a "party".

Heck no! If you foist a party on the OP, likely enough s/he will hate you for quite a long time. Or at least, I would. Parties are like some kind of Aspie repellent.

And a thousand times worse when the party is happening in your own living space.

Callista and Sparrow,
You are right about that. it is like the space is being invaded. At least at someone else's house, you could make an excuse and leave. There are some people that I would invite, like my school friends who have Asperger's themselves who come one at a time and only stay for a few. Parent's and family can be the worst, especially if they go through your things. it is so annoying. But I love the nice and quiet I get. But at least my family know that I have to be ready for them. But I have to be careful who I give my address too, especially those family members who just show up when i do not want to be bothered, but my mom takes care of that.

Yet, With all of those combined, it is about $200 cheaper than living in the residence, where they took all of my money, where I was only given $80 allowance($30 for clothing and $50 for personal stuff). I even have almost $300 left for an allowance. I even get food stamps, which is more than enough. I even enjoyed not having people come in and bother me. It was like a peaceful vacation, except it is everyday. I am going to love it. This is worth all of the hard work That I had worked hard for. I just want to let everyone, especially if you or someone you know, are going to live independently that it is a great feeling and sense of pride, independence, and of course, enjoyment. Good luck to all of you in your journeys. I did it and love it and so can you. Good luck to all.

Talk to a lawyer. The residence may have kept thousands of dollars worth of allowance that they never gave you. The way I calculate it they might possibly owe you more than $21,000 worth of "allowance" that is really your money they held on to.

Actually I always wrote them a check, they never had access nor control of my checks. My mom made sure of that. I had to sign a paper when i moved in there reporting my income and how much I was to pay. trust me, I do not have to worry about that anymore.

Thanks all again for the praise. I am very proud of myself and I know, just like I did, you all can too live independently. What is great, as I found, that with my Asperger's, I am way more responsible when it come to bill paying, rent paying at stuff. i see bills as a positive thing. The money is worth having your own place to live, digital cable, and a great life. I would sacrifice all the fun in the world, because being and living independently is the best fun of all, especially the joys of freedom, peace and quiet, outweigh going to an amusement park any day. Besides being with screaming kids, well that is no fun.

It can be a sweet life. Life is only a collection of single moments and when you can enjoy the single moments it is happy. When I just keep my eyes on what is needed to be done in each day I can manage. I am much happier and grateful than most people I know, minding the tiny things. It doesn't take that much to make me happy when what is around me is comforting. It is a sweet life in my uncomplicated world.
