I do light engineering work now, but I'm going back to school (on Tuesday, actually) for forensic sciences.

Lets see

I worked 9 years at a resteraunt where I believe they kept me around to be people's verbal punchingbag. I quit five times but they always begged for me to comeback but by the fifth time I had enough. I did not want to be in my thirties working in a resteraunt without medical insurance,

I worked 9 years in a machine shop even though I have no machanical aptitude and I get nervous working around large loud machinery. The only reason they hired me is that the metal finisher quit without notice and I suprised them with how good I was at metal polishing. They started getting fewer and fewer jobs where the part needed polishing to the point I get a polishing job everyother week, Since they know I cannot operate the CNC lathes they had no more work for me so they laid me off. I have been laid off since October. I put out 46 resumes and got at least two interviews where I believe I made the interviewer nervous.

July 6 I will be going for training in medical billing. If this does not work out for me I am screwed. I never had a job that I interviewed for.

Auditor. (Not the financial kind so much, but operations.)

Before that I was an assistant manager in retail for that company. The job had its good points, but also led to a lot of stress and tears. (Fairly complicated retail, one that requires a lot of specialized knowledge.)

90 days into the new job, and hardly any worries, and no tears. :) Enough activity to keep me busy and travel to keep me from getting bored, and the right level of "people" interaction...I don't have to deal with changing customer needs, but I get to talk to managers about policies and such that are all very nicely referenced. Does require some thinking on the feet when a situation comes up that isn't covered, but I don't have that constant feeling of "just barely treading water" anymore.

Don't have a job and never really had a job for more than 3 months. Will be going to school in the winter, hopefully to continue on with my accounting.

I'm on Social Security Disability. I have some physical things besides AS that make it very difficult for me to find employment. I put in applications when I think of places but I'm lucky if I get an interview. The unemployment rate is rising fast here due to lots of shrimpers & offshore works being out of work cuz of the oil spill. I got an email yesterday saying the custodial position I applied for at the hospital was filled. I didn't even get an interview & I have over 25 months of experience.

I have the utmost respect for these people perhaps some one can give me the direct quote something along the lines of CEO takes a day off nobody notices/cares cleaner takes the day off and their chaos OR words to that effect I've tried to track it down I simply can't locate it...

I wouldn't mind a job like that I'm financially set up (own my own home outright ) and my AS obsessions are quite modest such as gaming, beer, bicycles so money is of of no concern to me :) . Even so I'd much prefer to be driving those large motorised dust sweeper machines . :P

Also if I was that way inclined I'd be seriously turned on by dust women often a cute Filipino girl broom in one hand dustpan in the other, those cute little uniforms bits jiggling all over the place, very sexy .
