i don't stare (creepy) but i look a lot, whenever anywhere near a mirror. i think i'm checking to see if i'm still there.

anyone else ever get a surprise glimpse of yourself in a mirror you didn't know was there, and not recognize yourself right away?

Yes. (see earlier post)

I hate mirrors and I hate what I see in them which is also why I don't like to have my picture taken, yet I will find something looking into them. Or not looking, exactly, as I'm not really seeing my image, more like just staring and staring. It's something like I don't really recognize me. I suppose it must be so if something like what happened to Baloo, Kit, Becky and Karnage in A Baloo Switcheroo ever happens to me, I'll know. I'll see someone and be like, 'that's me!'.

I sometimes catch a look at myself and start staring really hard. I almost forget that it's ME in the mirror and sit there and stare at myself like an animal figuring out what its own reflection is.

I do. When I used to have a mirror at the end of my bed, at night, I would stare into my eyes for 10 minutes plus and totally zone out. I felt like I was enveloping into myself again and again. Strange.

I have dreams about looking at myself, in the mirror.

Occasionally I do because I'm trying to figure out what I look like to other people, as I have no clue.

You know how you can repeat a word over and over until you disassociate the sound from the meaning? I did that once with my face. I decided to stare at myself in the mirror until I didn't recognize myself anymore. It was interesting. I would watch patterns of light and dark cross my face and change it.

yes! I also agree with your other post- i have no idea what I look like to other people. I get confused about whether people see me the way I picture myself. Y'know how you keep a sort of mental photo in your mind of people you know; I'd love to be able to see what other people's mental photos of me look like.
And as some of you have mentioned it too- I hate having my photo taken nowadays. If someone sends me photos with me in them it usually takes a few months before I can get past the cringing to look at them properly

i do and often we have a some mirrors in the bathroom and unless i am checking out something that is bugging me i cant seem to find a place for what i see i know that it is my reflection but as persian85033 is the best i can relate to about it what i see is not what i feel like, but even regard less of that i do and some times find my self talking to myself through the mirror and that feels as if my social side is not what i perceive of my self as the words come from the mirror not me its kinda creepy, and i dislike how i look to be honest when i see my self but feels right how i look while i am not looking in a reflection.

i guess i can count this as another connection possibly.

I do. Not of admiration, per se. Just staring into my own eyes.

Sometimes I do stare at me in the mirror. I can't explain it. Sometimes I find my own face fascinating. It's the eyes I think.

Everytime I look in the mirror, I see a monster.

I never thought of that, but you are quite right. I may not be fond of the person in the mirror, but she does have common sense and understanding other people don't.
