Yeah, but people like that are not friends. They are "people you sometimes associate with". I got rid of such people way back in life because they only acknowledged that they knew me when their computer was broken and like in your situation, never called when it was time to go out.
When you find a friend or two that seem to stick with you the entire life, you have found true friends.
