YES! I've been at my warehouse job for 16 years. In my time there I've dealt with bullying, gas lighting, mind games, and some nasty people. Also, laziness, apathetic management, and favoritism. Whenever i hear " New exciting changes" I go into panic mode. I almost quit over a bullying issue years ago but couldn't because the economy was so bad, this was 2010-2011 right after the crash.
The place is an assault on my senses. The Rules change constantly, without warning. We have too many people in our department, the crowding is awful. People don't follow the rules, I mean if they say not to do it, DON'T DO IT! how f*****g hard is that? and people always trying to get out of doing things.
Then there's the seniority card. " I paid my dues" " That's not my job" " I''ve been here X amount of years, blah Blah Blah" .
If I would leave I would lose my insurance and vacation time. It's pretty much the devil I know. Starting over again at age 40 is scary and the whole vicious cycle starts again. I know I will not be able to work till I'm 65, in 10 years I don't even know.
I sometimes I pray I get laid off, just to have it be over with.
